A tired old hotel, papered over as Cicero Grande. It is grossly understaffed with delays at check in, horrible "breakfast" service including running out of coffee both mornings, and an apathetic staff more interested in their cell phone/texting than paying attention to patrons. The bathroom fixtures are cheap. The trash cans overflow and they actually ran out of water in the dispenser beside the front desk, I do not recommend this place.
We stayed at the Grand Cicero for one night for a softball tournament, and it was easily the worst hotel experience we’ve ever had.
The original room(209) they assigned us was completely unlivable. It smelled heavily of urine, had visible bodily fluids on the walls, unvacuumed floors, black mold coating the shower, the room door did not shut, and someone else's hair and footprints right on the bed sheets.
When I went to the front desk, the young man working the counter was very polite and apologetic. He immediately called the manager over to move us. Unfortunately, the manager could not have cared less—he didn't offer a single apology and seemed entirely bothered by having to do his job.
The second room wasn't any better; it just had different issues. While the carpet looked vacuumed and the air smelled a bit cleaner, the cleanliness stopped there:
Insect Infestation: The bed was littered with the molted shells of carpet beetles, and we spotted several live carpet beetles crawling across the floor.
Filthy Floors: The hard floors were clearly never swept. After taking a shower, my daughter walked around the room barefoot for just a few minutes, and the bottoms of her feet turned completely black.
More Mold: The shower in this room was also covered in mold.
To make matters worse, the common areas are incredibly run-down. The hallways are filthy, and the pool was completely closed. They have signs posted everywhere saying "Pardon our mess while we renovate," but there wasn't a single piece of equipment, worker, or sign of actual renovation happening. It’s just an excuse to cover up severe neglect.
This place is absolutely disgusting. It is glaringly obvious that management simply does not care about health, safety, or basic cleanliness. Do yourself a favor and book somewhere else.
It was dirty. It said a heated pool. The pool was not heated. You couldn’t even walk around the hotel room without your shoes on because literally your feet would turn black. It was gross inside the room.
location was not visible from the main streets
Easy access to the highway. Close to a restaurant and clean. We travel with a pet so being able to have a clean place to stay is key.
Only one elevator
Graduation at Syracuse .. hotel tripleid nightly rate
AC rattled for 3 days.
Nightlamp didn't work so could not charge phone
Big room , clean space
Pool was down for like more than half the day
That it was clean and I felt safe
breakfast was good lots of choices , The price of the room was exceptional ,staff was friendly and professional great place to stay foe the price
didn't have enough tables to sit and eat, and they didn't refill the bagel toast bread box , when i got there it was empty except some bread for toast
Booking.com totally took advantage of the Syracuse college graduation and over charged me for a hotel nowhere near what I should have paid. The hotel was dirty. I booked 3 rooms and all were dusty. The sofa bed in each room was covered in stains. We never sat down on it. The safety lock was broken. The hotel was recently a “Comfort Suites” and it must have been purchased by a company that had no intention to remodel or update it. I will never stay there again and I will never use Booking.com. I was charged 3,000.00 for 3 rooms for 4 nights. It was a $100 a night max. I can go on for pages, but it wont change the overpriced fee or make the room any cleaner.
Give me a discount on that disgusting room.
That it was close to downtown
Dirty couch in room. We didnt use pull out bed on it.
The staff all were extremely friendly. It was clean. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast was very good with many choices.
There were no tissues in the room.
The location was helpful and the beds and carpets were clean.
The hallways were full of bags of garbage that never got removed all weekend, the shower/tub was broken and also didn't drain. The room lighting was oddly dim. The couch had disturbing stains on it and the bathroom had mold in the crevices.
Adequate. On our second day we went to Cracker Barrel. It was really close by.
Floor of the elevator.... really needs cleaning.
The pool - could be cleaner - gobs of hair and bandaids in the water.
The public bathroom near the pool was out of toilet paper.
One of the excercise machines was broken.
The peace and quiet
Water wasn't hot
