Head grease on headboards, who knows last time they’ve been cleaned in room 1113
Location is good.
The facilities are outdated, and the elevator takes forever. It feels like something left over from World War II that has never been updated. Every time I got in, I was worried the cables might snap.
The towels had a strange smell, so I didn’t dare use them. To make matters worse, when I checked out, the hotel not only held my security deposit but also charged my credit card an additional amount. When I asked about it, they claimed I had taken their shampoo and body wash bottles.
That was absolutely disgusting. I would never use the hotel’s shared toiletries, let alone take them home. Who knows what kind of germs or diseases they could carry? I always bring my own toiletries when I travel. My own conditioner ran out during my stay, so I threw the empty bottle away in your trash bin, and I had already bought a new one. On the day I checked out, I even asked the female front desk employee to inspect my luggage, but she didn’t bother to do so. Her attitude was far from professional.
The air conditioning was unbearably cold—it felt like sleeping in a morgue. I asked for an extra blanket, but they didn’t have one. My reservation included breakfast, yet I still had to call the front desk just to get the breakfast voucher.
This is honestly one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. Aside from its convenient location, there is nothing worth recommending. I strongly suggest that others avoid this hotel.
I always treat hotel staff with courtesy and respect, but that doesn’t give anyone the right to take advantage of my politeness.
If you come from a country where people value kindness, courtesy, and basic respect, do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else. This hotel seems better suited for people who consider this kind of rude and unprofessional treatment acceptable.
Super lage
Freundliches Personal
Unbequemes bettsofa
Me han cobrado en la tarjeta 270, 70 en la tarjeta cuando debería ser 170
Top Lage, Sauberkeit, nettes Personal.
Sehr kleines Zimmer + Mini Fenster
- Location on the Chicago River, great view of river from room
- Historic hotel, even pointed out and mentioned on the Architecture Boat tour
- Friendly staff
- Complimentary coffee bar and filtered water
- Clean, well-maintained room
- Easy walk to Clarke or Clarke-Lake station for ease of getting around the city and to/from airport
- Small elevators, so they fill up quickly, and with only two elevators, it can be a slow process.
- No restaurant or bar, but many choices close by
- Outdoor wedding at Sonesta Hotel made for a noisy first night, but bed was comfortable and I was tired so went to sleep easier than I first thought I would
