Great Gold Coast location. Impeccable service. Immaculate property. Everything we needed was in walking distance. Short uber rides to certain landmarks. Room upgraded at reasonable rate. Great getaway for my wife and I.

Below a reader may see reviews I've posted reviews for our yearly Chgo Waldorf Staycation. This is a redundant review, though a beautiful hotel and professional staff deserves recognition. We do an annual Staycation and I keep noticing additional details that create an inviting retreat that is both relaxing and somehow sparks a breath of energy to take along after the stay.

Loved the location and comfort but the best thing was the service from all the concierges. From the email welcoming us to the restaurant recommendations and bookings, we loved them - especially Sheryl!

So nice there is a courtesy car, Louis was our driver and he was the best!

We had the pleasure of attending the recent Champagne Dinner at Waldorf Astoria Chicago and it was an incredibly special evening from start to finish. The atmosphere struck the perfect balance of elegance and warmth, filled with great conversation, genuine hospitality, and a room that felt deeply connected through the experience. Every interaction felt thoughtful and personal, making us feel truly taken care of throughout the night.
A huge thank you to Cyrille Pawelko, the outstanding team at Brass Tack, and Louis Roederer Team, for such a beautifully curated evening. The Champagne pairings, cuisine, and overall energy of the room came together effortlessly and served as a wonderful reminder of what true hospitality feels like.

The Waldorf Astoria is a beautiful blend of modern elegance and classic tradition in Chicago’s stunning Gold Coast neighborhood. The property is beautiful throughout, and the courtyard upon arrival feels almost magical. From the moment you step into the elegant lobby beneath the stunning chandelier, you immediately feel immersed in the atmosphere.

We were upgraded to a one-bedroom suite that had all the bells and whistles and more: luxurious linens, top-of-the-line amenities, and a beautiful balcony overlooking the city. Our children were warmly welcomed with signature Waldorf teddy bears, robes, coloring books, and even a play tent, which was the highlight of their day.

Upon returning on our first evening, we were surprised with a thoughtful handwritten note and a box of macarons, such a lovely and memorable touch.

What truly set our stay apart was the exceptional service, especially from Sheryl in Concierge. She was incredibly helpful throughout our stay and went above and beyond to secure reservations at some of the city’s hardest-to-book restaurants, all of which we thoroughly enjoyed. At one dinner, the restaurant even presented us with a beautiful platter of sweets compliments of the hotel—something we had never experienced before, despite many stays at luxury properties around the world.

The hotel also features a serene spa and excellent fitness facilities, adding even more to the experience.

Overall, it was a wonderful family stay in Chicago, and the Waldorf Astoria truly elevated our trip in every way.

Deandre made our stay at the Waldorf Astoria Chicago feel truly exceptional. From the moment we arrived, he was warm, attentive, professional, and genuinely kind. He went above and beyond to make sure everything was seamless and made us feel incredibly welcomed and cared for throughout our experience.

Luxury hospitality is all about the details, and Deandre absolutely delivered. His energy, professionalism, and attention to guest experience stood out and genuinely elevated our visit. Thank you for making such a special trip even more memorable — the Waldorf Astoria is lucky to have you!

We had a mostly enjoyable stay from May 2-6. The location, design, and staff friendliness were excellent, and we appreciated the attention to detail in many areas.

However, there were two notable issues:
• The in-room safe malfunctioned on May 5th. After reporting it, a security guy came to assess the safe, and followed by a technician, and they had to break it open to access our valuables. This took several hours from nighttime and onto the following morning. This was stressful and inconvenient.
• Turndown service was inconsistent — provided on some nights but completely missed on others.
These experiences slightly detracted from what could have been a flawless luxury stay. I hope the hotel addresses the safe maintenance and service consistency. Would consider returning if these are improved.

We just returned from a wonderful stay in Chicago at the Waldorf Astoria. The hotel could not have been more welcoming and perfect for our needs. The location was central and navigating the city was easy. Our Junior Suite was sparkling clean, quiet and so roomy. We were treated like royalty by the staff , everyone was so genuinely friendly and very professional. Mr Tamas Vago is the General Manager and he took the time to introduce himself and then gave us information about the history of the hotel.

Prior to our arrival, Riz on the concierge staff contacted us to see how he could help with our planning. Questions were answered and dining reservation were made. Upon arrival, Cheryl, also on the Concierge staff, helped us with suggestions for our day. She also, set up the House Car to deliver us to our destination within a mile of the hotel. This was a lovely feature. After exploring, we enjoyed the spa ( jacuzzi, steam and sauna) as a complimentary feature due to our Hilton Diamond status. The indoor pool is complimentary and was the perfect temperature with comfy loungers on the deck.

We enjoyed every minute of our stay because the facilities are top notch but the staff is incredible. Our stay was greatly enhanced by the lovely individuals employed by the Waldorf Astoria. They were friendly and not the least bit pretentious, as some fancy hotels can be.

James, our breakfast server, was an absolute standout. He not only remembered my coffee preferences but anticipated them each morning with such attention to detail. His kindness and professionalism made breakfast one of the highlights of my stay. He is truly a gem.

Sheryl at the concierge desk also made a lasting impression. Her warm greetings, bright smile, and thoughtful recommendations made every day better. She radiates hospitality and made me feel genuinely welcomed.
