Lake side dream location
Pros:

We recently spent 3 nights at Grand Hotel Fasano. We were delighted with the hotel - the room was spacious and beautifully decorated - we booked a lake view room and it was well worth the additional charge with amazing and immediate views. Despite being close to the bar, it was also quiet. A little more counter space in the bathroom would be helpful - but again really well appointed. We dined at the more casual osteria where food, service and view were great. Breakfast is in the same area and was a real highlight - calm, serene, lots of tables, and excellent service. We were so pleased to not only have a very comprehensive buffet , but also an à la carte menu which had lovely options. You can swim in the lake, or one of three pools, and there was never a shortage of sun loungers or sun umbrellas. We would love to return one day.

Le Grand Hôtel Fasano, un magnifique hôtel pour un séjour de rêve
Pros:

Le Grand Hôtel Fasano est exceptionnel. Sa situation au bord du Lac de Garde, le confort de la chambre, la gentillesse du personnel, les petites attentions, la qualité des restaurants et bars, les piscines et le spa… tout est formidable. On n’a plus envie de bouger, juste l envie de profiter du moment.

Pretentious
Pros:

Stayed for 4 nights in July 2026. Hotel itself is good. It looks great, the staff are attentive and friendly (even though you know it’s forced). The pool and spa area is very good too and was never too busy. They have paddle boards and canoes you can use on the river so cannot fault them on any of this. The room we had (executive room) was spacious, had every amenity but with a waste of space room. Overall the room was very good though. What we did have issues with is the general level of service and the over pretentious meal choices in the restaurants. We ate in every restaurant, the sea food restaurant was ok but very limited if you don’t like sea food. Service in there was slow. The Michelin restaurant had the best service but the worst food. We chose from the à la carte menu and although it was presented very well, the combination of flavours was awful. The bistro, the terrace and room service all have the same menu and options are very limited. Burger, club sandwich, Caesar salad, tagliatelle, tuna salad, lasagne. Very limited and everywhere. The magnolia restaurant offered a make your own salad which was very good. However the service there was the worst of the lot. Took us forever to order. An Italian couple next to us sat down 5 minutes after us, ordered and had their food before we’d even been offered drinks. It was that bad. I think it was because we asked to move tables to be in one the better locations. I ordered an espresso for afterwards which never turned up but we still got billed for it. Very poor and I did make a complaint over it. Equally as bad was the pool side ordering. Great that there was a QR code you could use to order through your phone. Not so great was the time you had to wait for it, if it turned up at all. Supposedly this is open until 7pm. We ordered drinks at 6:30 and never received them. When we went to the bar serving them at just before 7, we were told the bar had shut and couldn’t take the order at 6:30. No feedback at the time, just took the order and ignored it. Wet very poor. Not what you expect from a very expensive 5 star hotel. I personally wouldn’t recommend the hotel but I can see why it does appeal. If you like pretentiousness and a bit of pomp and snobbery then this is for you. I prefer good service and staff that genuinely care.

Wundervoll! Wir kommen wieder
Pros:

Die Lage am See, die Terrasse mit Bar, Terrasse fuers Fruehstueck, die Liegen direkt am See einfach super. Wir hatten ein tolles Zimmer direkt mit Seeblick. Das Michelin Restaurant war sehr gut und der Service war ueberall sehr sehr gut.

Cons:

Das Restaurant Pescatore am Abend ist Geschmacksache. Die Villa nebendran wuerde ich nicht buchen.

Pros:

Beautiful, classic and elegant hotel that’s right on the water. The staff were so considerate and attentive and the breakfast was exceptional

Cons:

If you want to explore lake Garda, it’s not the easiest location and would require a car. Also the outdoor pool is on the smaller side and more suitable for children

Perfect Lake Garda experience
Pros:

Beautiful hotel in a great location. We got the Deluxe Lake View Room, and that was definitely the right decision, as the room was huge and had a stand-alone tub and a large balcony. We loved the outdoor bar and the cocktails were incredible. We met Rama the bar manager who came over to chat with us about his cocktails and he was the nicest guy. Also loved the restaurant manager.
Swimming in the lake was one of the highlights of our trip, particularly with how hot it was, and we were so happy we chose a hotel right on the lake. We loved the location in general; it was quiet and peaceful, but we were still able to walk to the town of Gardone Riveria and to some other restaurants in the area.
All in all, a wonderful experience with great atmosphere and great service, would love to return!
