Fantastic view of the town, very friendly staff in cafeteria, memorable hill top walk above parador.
Swimming pool not in service.
The outside patio & view of Toledo.
The pool sparkled but it was chilly when we were there.
We recently had a one night stay in this historic Parador. The room was spotlessly clean. Contained everything we needed for our short stay. We had drinks on the terrace over looking the city which was the highlight. Very friendly staff. Overall a good stay. A little out of the town centre but that made it nice and peaceful and was only a short taxi ride down the hill.
Rooms were spotlessly clean. Staff very friendly.
We ate dinner in the restaurant. Although I do appreciate we are in Spain, perhaps with a large volume of tourists the menu could also be written in English also. It was in Spanish and French - but not in English.
As with most paradors the rooms are basic but clean, bed linen is decent quality and the firm-ish beds provide a decent night’s sleep. Staff were helpful and cheerful at the front desk, in the bar and in the restaurant. The views from the terrace over Toledo are stunning.
The Hotel is not disabled friendly with multiple level changes. They have tried to address this with personal stair lifts but getting around with reduced mobility or if you are in a wheelchair is something you should consider carefully. The only other real negative was the restaurant which according to the website offers ‘a regional dining experience’, so why is the menu in French? Normally anywhere in Spain can cope with my wife’s allergies by leaving items out as they cook because it is freshly prepared for each customer. Here it must be ‘boil in a bag’ or all pre prepped as the waiter suggested ‘bread?’ when we asked what she could eat. We ended up with steaks that were not that good and a very large bill – disappointing, avoid or just eat elsewhere
Un sitio y vistas de la ciudad espectaculares
La ubicación me pareció muy buena
Die Aussicht auf Toledo und die Gratisparkplätze
Etwas weit in die Stadt zum Laufen
Such a great location, with possibly the best lookout view of Toledo at sunset (and sunrise) nearly all to yourself in the bar terrace.
The hotel is very well laid out and the rooms are excellent - best so far in 40days of travel, although we did spring for an upgrade for the superior rooms with balcony and views and I can say it was welllll worth it.
Travel into centre is a breeze, with Taxi cost us $€8 and you get to stay far beyond the day trippers from Madrid.
My wife had a small issue with wait staff in the terrace who were a bit curt with reply’s but it may have just been a small misunderstanding as the reception and all other staff were very kind and accomodating.
I don’t normally do this much feedback, but this hotel was well worth taking an extra day or 2 and we left feeling we would prefer to stay another day here over Madrid and will 100% come back, which I would not do if it were less impressive.
Instructions for the bar terrace and there were only 4 or 5 tables, when there weee many more stores around the side. Possibly a staffing issue on that day as there was an annual festival in the valley as well, so C’est La Vie.
L’emplacement, le petit-déjeuner
Le bruit, des évènements qui ont généré beaucoup de bruits, les portes du restaurant qui auraient pu être fermées pour une meilleure insonorisation, un personnel pas assez multi lingue
First we like the quirkiness of the Paradors. Often older buildings reinvented but this is a more modern version. Built across the valley from the Old City of Toledo with superb views.
We found the staff polite, helpful and efficient. Our room was large, clean and comfortable (A/C was not working or was fixed at a winter temperature). Bed was comfortable and the bathroom was fine with toiletries etc. Not a fan of showers in baths but we knew this was the norm. Our room had a considerable balcony overlooking the pool and countryside beyond.
Breakfast was a good selection kept refreshed (hot items to order). However at a crowded session the room holding the buffet was too small. The restaurant has an excellent local menu and was very good. Superb service.
Car Parking is available free.
In all reality the Old City (why you are visiting?) is too far a walk with steep slopes on both sides of the river valley (there are paths most of the way). However the excellent local taxi service will drop you anywhere in the city for about 10 Euros.
Would stay again if in the area,
Muchas gracias.
Excellent location and within walking distance of many attractions and the city on your doorstep…
Really friendly and attentive staff who made our stay that extra bit special …
Fantastic views on the balcony and after a days exploring and returning to the Parador it was nice to enjoy a dinner in their restaurant with great service and friendly staff
The room was spacious and very clean with superb views over Toledo…
Highly recommended.
