Staff was so cordial and professional. Gardens were beautiful. Had a nice room with a balcony overlooking the canal. Bathroom had a big soaking tub!! We watched several tall-masted sailboats as they went through the locks. Great walking trails along the river and around the hotel. Need to drive into downtown. Had a light supper in the restaurant, soup and salad, which was delicious. Breakfast was choice of buffet or order from menu, which we chose. Eggs benedit and eggs royale was delicious. Really enjoyed our 1 night.
Nothing negative. Expect "touristy" crowd during the day as people came to watch the boats and locks. This was nothing negative as we were part of those Tourists!!
Personale sorridente e super disponibile. Posizione. Un po' fuori dal centro ma con auto fattibilissimo. Sulla strada per giungere in soli 10 minuti al porto per la partenza delle barche per i tour guidati. Abbiamo anche cenato pietanze calde e i nostri fish & chips molto ben fritti!

Er stond een mooi kleed en koekjes voor de hond klaar bij aankomst op de hotelkamer. Dat was leuk gedaan. De keuze tussen de gerechten bij het ontbijt waren prima: we zouden bij de Avocado Smash toch wel gerookte zalm of bacon verwachten en de gepocheerde eieren bij Egg Benedict mogen wel een lopend eigeel hebben... En misschien dan toch twee eitjes in plaats van 1? De tuin is wel mooi onderhouden.
Een bijzonder teleurstellend verblijf dat absoluut niet in verhouding stond tot de prijs van £270 per kamer per nacht.
Onze eerste kamer hebben we direct geweigerd vanwege water en schimmel in de kamer. Dat zegt helaas veel over de staat van onderhoud van het hotel. In de vervangende kamer zat de badmat vol schimmel (zie foto). Ook stond er gedurende ons volledige verblijf buiten een overvolle prullenbak. Pas nadat wij dit bij ons vertrek meldden, werd deze eindelijk geleegd. Kennelijk was er eerst een klacht van een gast nodig voordat iemand actie ondernam.
Ook de service was star en allesbehalve gastvrij. Een dubbele espresso kostte maar liefst £6,50, maar zelfs bij zo’n buitensporige prijs was het niet mogelijk om het bedrag op de kamerrekening te laten zetten. De koffie moest per se direct worden afgerekend. Dit soort inflexibiliteit kwam tijdens het hele verblijf terug.
Om 22.30 uur moesten we de bar verlaten en mochten we daar zelfs niet meer rustig blijven zitten. Er werd geen alternatief aangeboden, waardoor we gedwongen waren ons terug te trekken op onze hotelkamers. Niet bepaald wat je verwacht van een hotel in deze prijsklasse.
Het continentale ontbijt was zeer beperkt. Zelfs voor eenvoudige producten zoals ham moesten we telkens opnieuw vragen. Daarnaast moesten we al in de ochtend beslissen of we die avond in het hotel wilden eten. Dit terwijl er nauwelijks gasten waren en reserveren overduidelijk niet noodzakelijk leek. Regels en procedures waren kennelijk belangrijker dan gemak en gastvrijheid voor de gasten.
Het hotel is slecht onderhouden, de prijzen zijn buitensporig en het personeel verschuilt zich achter rigide regels in plaats van mee te denken. Voor £270 per kamer per nacht mag je een hoog niveau van comfort en dienstverlening verwachten. Wij kregen het tegenovergestelde en zouden hier zeker niet opnieuw verblijven.

An amazing situation right on the canal, but the hotel was old & very tired. Many things in our room were far from satisfactory. However it happened to be a very warm afternoon with sun streaming into our room, but a fan could not be provided.
Considering the excessive cost of a stay here, we felt this was far from satisfactory.
Breakfast was very basic where everything was mass produced, no local ingredients or even fresh rolls!

Det finns parkering utanför
Hotellet skulle behöva ett ordentligt ansiktslyft. Det fanns fuktskador på toadörren, rummet luktade fukt, det fanns ingen ventilation eller AC - så det blev jättevarmt. Bara en i personalen jobbade, några andra var trevliga, men flera var otrevliga, vilket fick oss att lämna tidigare och äta frukost någon annanstans. Absolut inte värt att bokas! Dessutom ligger det oväntat långt från centrum, drygt 1 timmes promenad. Det finns bättre alternativ i Fort Williams.

No hot water in the mornings - shower was like warm on 2 mornings and the other was freezing cold - we stayed 3 nights.
Was not a 4 star - room was very small for an accessible room - little space for wheelchair to move around in the space. Heating was a very outdated radiator and had a broken lock on bathroom window so couldn’t open. Needs significant update.
Was very expensive for the money, as was the food. Sadly 1 member of the party was very sick having eaten in the restaurant
