Ein sehr schönes B&B in total ruhiger Lage mit einem schönen großen und sauberen Innenhof. Perfekt für die Kinder. Das Frühstück ist sehr gut. Ein Problem mit einem Stromausfall wurde super schnell gelöst.
Wir hatten 2 Nächte im B+B und demzufolge 2x Frühstück. Am 2. Tag waren wir sofort 10 Minuten nach Frühstückstart mit unseren 1 & 3 jährigen Kindern da und mussten 30 Minuten!! auf einen Tisch warten, da nur 2er Tische frei waren. Das Personal war zwar sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, aber geistig völlig unbeweglich. Anstatt einfach 2 Tische zusammen zu schieben wurde uns erklärt, dass dies aus "Safety Reasons" nicht möglich war. Was für ein Quatsch.
Der Tag ging dann natürlich super stressig für uns los. 2 hungrige Kleinkinder 30 Minuten in einem öffentlichen Frühstücksraum bespaßen ist, wie alle Eltern wissen, purer Wahnsinn. Zudem haben wir über 30 Minuten am Tag unserer Abreise verloren, was auch sehr unglücklich war.
Das schlimme daran ist eigentlich nur, wie unfähig das Personal hier war. Man hätte einfach nur 2 Tische zusammen schieben können und alle wären glücklich gewesen.
Unglaublich schade, sonst war der Aufenthalt richtig toll, aber die einzige Familie im ganzen B&B mit Kleinkindern 30 Minuten so sinnlos warten lassen, ist ein absolutes NoGo. Vor allem, da wir auch gleich zum Frühstückstart da waren. Es gab sogar ein Schild auf dem angegebenen wurde, dass zwischen 8-8:30 am "Low Traffic" sei.
Da wir auch nur 2 Nächte hatten, muss ich das auch entsprechend stark in meine Bewertung einfließen lassen.

It was very clean smelt of bleach in the room when we walked in . Cheap because I had the economy room and it was on the ground floor to so great . 15-20 min walk to york so location great . Nice breakfast and a good set up .
The fan stayed on too long in the bathroom. Every time u walked in the fan went on . Kept you awake if u got up in the night for the toilet .
Family room was ideal, plenty of space, clean and tidy.
Inconsiderate guests who cannot care less regarding others, annoying.
No light on the bathroom mirror, difficult to shave.
Friendly welcome on registering, and prompt action when advised that the shower basin was very slow to drain. Great location, comfy bed but would have been nice if queen size rather than standard small double. Good towels...
We discovered a great restaurant for dinner only 5 min walk, in the Churchill Hotel on the main road. Pizza shack in the beer garden, but the indoor restaurant was lovely with very generous helpings and friendly staff.
The B&B was very busy, breakfast was served from 8am, while we had an appointment at 9am about 10 min walk away. Guests were assigned a table, and orders for cooked breakfast were taken and brought in strict order of arrival. This meant a delay for those arriving a bit later. The cooked breakfast itself was OK but not outstanding. We would suggest to provide a bowl of fresh fruit. The non-cooked items were fine, and self-service, including the coffee; tea had to be ordered.

Zeer mooie kamer. Deze was gelegen op de zolder van het gebouw. Keurig afgewerkt . Wel was het er erg warm een ventilator en een klein raampje gaven iets verkoeling. De buitentemperatuur was ook rond de 30 graden. Mooie grote kamer met twee stoelen en een prima badkamer. Het eten en de bediening was prima. Eigenlijk is het een soort van hotel.

Fantastic helpful staff. Excellent location, short walk to york town centre. Lovely breakfast with wide choice. Our room was great too with excellent facilities. All in all a perfect stay

Die Matratzen sind echt in die Jahre gekommen und gehören ausgetauscht. Der Frühstücksraum ist gemütlich aber leider für die vielen Gäste zu klein. Das Frühstück war lecker wenn man Eier ist, aber nach zwei Tagen könnte man Abwechslung gebrauchen oder man zieht weiter 😉
We stayed at B+B York for a weekend away as part of a mystery tour—which turned out to be even more “mysterious” when we realised we’d brought the clues for Oxford instead of York! Thankfully, a quick bit of Googling and some helpful printing from the hotel meant we were soon back on track and able to enjoy a fantastic day exploring York.
The hotel is ideally located, around a 10-minute walk from York Minster, making it a great base for sightseeing. Breakfast was excellent, with plenty of choice to set you up for the day.
The rooms were perfectly fine and comfortable, though the standard double bed was a little smaller than we’re used to—but not a major issue for a short stay.
A big plus was being able to charge our EV on-site using the hotel charger, which was competitively priced and very convenient.
Most notably, the staff were lovely and friendly throughout our stay. They also handled an unexpected incident (completely outside their control) extremely professionally, which really stood out.
Overall, a very enjoyable stay in a well-located hotel with great service—we’d happily return (with the correct clues next time!).
Other than the standard double bed felt smaller than we’re used to the hotel meet with our expactations.

Ook al zijn we hier vaker geweest naar tevredenheid, viel het dit keer helaas erg tegen. We hadden een driepersoonskamer op de begane vloer. Dit was een donkere kamer, want het had maar 1 raam en ongezellig led licht. Onder het bed was niet goed gestofzuigd, er lagen etensresten. Er was geen douchegel op de kamer, deze moest bij de receptie worden afgehaald (genoemde reden: voor het milieu). Gehorige kamers en de veer van de matrassen was duidelijk hoorbaar en helde over naar een kant. Parkeerkosten waren hoog, 15 pond per dag (eerdere jaren was dit gratis) en hadden we dus niet verwacht. Echter wat met name tegenviel was het Yorkshire ontbijt, de worst was bij ons beiden echt smerig, we denken zelfs niet goed meer of heel gehaast klaargemaakt, niet goed doorbakken. De bacon droog en de scrammbled eggs smaakloos. Geen fruit of lekkere broodjes. Al met al te druk en te gehaast, niet gezellig. We komen niet meer terug
