A lovely place to stay
Pros:

A lovely place to stay. The staff were all welcoming and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The room was clean and comfortable, with enough storage space and a good size bathroom. The breakfast was delicious and plenty of choice, with all diets catered for with ease. There are ground floor room and everywhere on the ground floor is easily accessible if you have any mobility problems. The on site parking was a bonus and only a short walk into York!

Cons:

There was absolutely nothing to not like!
We have already booked our next stay.

Most uncompromising, unhelpful accommodation.
Pros:

You couldn't fault the actual hotel, comfortable clean rooms. Well located for walking into York centre and a nice quiet street.

Cons:

When I booked on booking.com it said parking on site. When you clicked on the drop down there was no other info other than parking on site. After booking it then showed that there was a £15 charge and no guarantee of a space. I contacted the hotel immediately to say this information did not show until after booking and I'd like to cancel. They refused and sent me a video showing a long, convoluted way that I could have found this information before booking. I explained that this was misleading and I had a car full of stuff and needed a guaranteed private car park space. They continued to refused to cancel and refund even though it was weeks in advance and they would easily re-sell the room.
When I came down for breakfast (at their own advertised quiet time 8-8.30am there was one table for 4 available but they said I had to wait. I explained I have to leave in 40 minutes as I had an appointment. They still refused to seat me and said there was another single person waiting I suggested we could share, but again they refused to ask the other guest. Another two people arrived who also had to wait when they could have split the tables and accommodated us all (the other person waiting was more than happy to share the table with me and, when we finally got seated, had a lovely chat about our experiences in York). This meant I had an unrelaxed, rushed breakfast. I found this place to be the most unaccommodating hotel I've come across in booking many places. Yes it was fine, but just for their attitude I would look elsewhere.

Very good location for your stays in York
Pros:

B+B York is located about a 10 minute walk from the historic center in a quiet area.
The room we had was spacious.
Breakfast was very good, but it took a bit of time before it got served on account of all guests showing up in the breakfast area at the same time.
As the tab water was not the most delicious, the water dispenser in the hall is a nice touch.

Cons:

15 pounds per night for parking seems a bit much for me.

Pros:

Located in a quiet leafy part of town, it's just a pleasant 20 mins walk to the centre with bakeries and pubs even closer. We were upgraded to the suite which had an amazingly comfortable bed! Lovely staff. Good value for York. Would stay again.

Cons:

Breakfast room was small and loud, and we had to wait till there was a space but it was a very busy weekend. Would have liked some fruit for breakfast although there was a range of cooked options.

Great little gem
Pros:

The beautuful property, friendly gardener and staff
We loved the clean large room. The decor was lovely too. A really great stay all in all. Would definitely stay again on our next visit.

Cons:

Too be really picky
The cheap signage/ sheets of laminated offers and information in and outside the hotel let it down.

A suggestion.
A folder in each room with offers and information.

Too many different staff at breakfast time in and out serving, in such a small breakfast room, so it became quite crowded. 5 in all. Although all wearing black, we weren't at times sure if they were staff or members of the public

location was fair staff were great very basic room noisy humidifier had to turn it off once we found the on off switch

Cons:

would have been better if we were in the main building instead of the cottage light in bathroom stayed on all night no way to turn it off and the humidifier as stated above very noisy

Cons:

Bij ontbijt werd na tijdje gevraagd toen we nog aan kofgie zaten of we ruimte wouden maken voor de volgende gasten. Niet gastvrij op dat punt.
