The location was good and it had charm.
No air conditioning and the fan provided did nothing. It was hotter inside than outside. Even hotter in the room than the hallway. It was unbearable. I wanted to leave but I had already paid the nights. The staff was not always friendly or trying to please their guests.
Lovely design of the room and great for solo traveller. Staff nice and a good location.
Overhead fan was extremely loud so couldn’t have it on for very long. Breakfast unavailable earlier on the Sunday which was a shame but can’t be helped
Sehr gute Lage und Ausgangspunkt! Schönes Viertel.
Preis -Leistung. Extrem muffiger Geruch.
Great location. Helpful pre arrival communication. Good amount of space and comfortable air conditioning.
Hospitality fine. Food meh. All we needed.
Sentralt
Hadde booket to senger, men fikk en liten 1,20 seng til to personer.
Location close to tube and main railway stations. My room was tiny but confortable, facing a back garden which made it silent.
Breakfast was expensive as it did not take into account what you were having. Continental and full english breakfast should not cost the same.
Great location close to Euston station, breakfast was continental buffet and cooked to order, I didn’t have time for cooked sadly but continental was nice enough, only issue there was no cutlery so I was buttering my toast with a spoon.
I had a single room so it was small but fine, bed is enclosed at the ends so not good for tall people. My main issue was there was no drinking water and I arrived very late and thirsty, happy to drink tap water but I couldn’t get any cold water from the tap, despite running it both sides, it was warm or hot. TV didn’t work. Wall lamp above bed didn’t work.
Delicious cooked breakfast. Very good free wifi. Bed very comfortable. Tea and coffee facilities in room (and nice biscuits). Room service very good (you just have to leave the sign on the door if you want it).
There are many hotels similar to this - organised around a staircase in an old townhouse - in this part of London. This may be the best of the bunch.
Fantastic location for visiting Birkbeck, and right opposite huge bookshop. The ceiling fan made up for the lack of A/C. Kindly offered to look after my luggage on the last day.
I would stay here again.
Light not working in bathroom (I did not ask for it to be fixed). One of the servers at breakfast was rather brusque.
I am just thankful my stay was only for 1 night! Had about 2 hours sleep due to noise from both inside and outside the hotel - my room was on the main road side. Yes, there is internet but it’s hit and miss - not saying this is the fault of the hotel owners though. The room I was in was really small - for a double room I’d have expected something slightly bigger. It all needs a bit of an overhaul with re decorating and newer furniture. For £170 per night I was really disappointed - regardless of London prices.
Honestly, the coffee maker was really amazing. My girlfriend is very particular about her coffee, but even she was impressed. English breakfast was enjoyable. Staff was super nice, looked after our bags while we went out. Was a little nervous leaving bags in the hallway, but everything was fine when we came back. The grounds and room were clean. Easy to get to, centrally located within walking distance of the tube, restaurants, shops, etc. Well-positioned to accommodate improvising with the tube strike. I liked that it had cable so I could wash trashy British TV we don't have in the states.
Room was quite small, which I suppose is probably typical for the area. A bit cramped for two people - probably should have gotten a bigger room. For some reason I thought the room had A/C (this was an oversight on my part); it had been hot the week before we arrived, but it was in the 50s (Fahrenheit) outside, but the room was a bit warmer/sometimes unpleasant.
The hotel has an excellent location, the staff is very nice and accessible, the bed was comfortable and the sheets clean.
The room was very rundown. The holder for the showerhead and the shower door were broken sometime in the past and never repaired. LED light strips were installed to give some more light to the room but, again, were broken sometime in the past and never repaired. The carpet was clean but old as was the wallpaper.
The size of the room is what it is but with a little bit of work the room would go from a 5 to an 8, easily.
