Lovely, quiet, and tucked-away hotel with a wonderful, lush, tropical garden where you can have breakfast or chill out during the day. The rooms are very spacious, and the whole place is an oasis from the busy city.

Drei Dinge machten die Übernachtungen im Arts In zu einem äußerst tollen Urlaubserlebnis:
1. Der Service und das Personal sind sehr, sehr freundlich, humorvoll und kompetent. Von der Rezeption, zur Gastronomie, zum Housekeeping und bis zum Gärtner wurden wir täglich freundlich empfangen, umsorgt und hatten nette Gespräche.
2. Der Ort: Von der Terrasse sieht man nicht nur das Meer, sondern hat auch den Blick über fast die gesamte Stadt Funchal. Wenn man ein Zimmer mit Meerblick wie Nr. 209 bucht (lohnt sich!), schaut man ebenfalls auf die Stadt (siehe Foto). Das Gebäude ist modern und hell eingerichtet (Holz- und Glaselemente). Der liebevoll angelegte Garten wird täglich von einem Gärtner gepflegt und begeistert durch exotische Zier- und Nutzpflanzen. Das Hotel ist ca. 10 Minuten zu Fuß von der Bushaltestelle zum Airportbus entfernt und 10-15 Minuten von der Restaurantmeile der Altstadt, wo man unzählige Lokale mit hervorragender regionaler Küche findet.
3. Das Frühstück ist Erholung pur. Man wählt, wo man sitzt: Wir saßen auf der grün überrankten Terrasse mit Blick auf die Stadt und die Seilbahn. Man wählt aus einer Speisekarte und es wird alles am Platz serviert: Pancakes, Omelettes, frisch gepresste Säfte, Cappuccino mit frischer Schlagsahne, große Brötchenauswahl. Auch hier wieder ausgezeichnetes Gastronomiepersonal, das sich auch die Wünsche der Vortage merkt und Vorschläge macht.

The only detail different from the room description was coffee machine missing in the room. Nevertheless, we loved our stay at the hotel!

Dos días no pudimos ducharnos a primera hora con agua caliente. Tuvieron algún problema con las calderas y tardaron en resolverlo

Lovely location overlooking the city, very comfortable room and all the staff was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again. And if Andre at the reception recommends a restaurant, please go. The restaurant he sent us to was amazing; the food and flavors unlike anything I have had before.
The hotel has a very nice boutique hotel vibe . The hotel is close enough to city center that you can walk (about 10-15 min) but far enough so it is peaceful and quiet .
The garden is beautiful and the view at breakfast is so good that it sets your day on a good path.
The breakfast was great. A bit of a la carte with a enough choices to satisfy most people's wishes. Breakfast is very good. Totally recommend.

Rooms were cleaned every day and overall cleanliness was impressive.
Hotel also has a parking available (needs reservation) which is great as most people will have a rented car.
Hotel is on a hill so it is a bit of a hike when you come back. I did not find it that bad overall but it depends on your fitness level.
Also there are no restaurants or supermarkets around which makes it a bit difficult since the hotel does not serve any other meals than breakfast.
The rooms are somewhat outdated. Very clean but not very modern.
