Residence Inn by Marriott Harrisonburg

Great option close to 81 and surrounded by plenty of dining and shopping options!

This is an excellent base location for exploring the Shenandoah Valley. Close to the Skyline Drive and Appalachian Trail, JMU, wineries, a wide variety of very good restaurants, etc. The property is very clean with nice amenities. The free breakfast was well stocked and managed, with sufficient options even for a longtime vegetarian. The hotel suites are roomy with full kitchens with all the necessities. This property has found an excellent solution for ice availability while the suite refrigerator's ice machine is catching up. There is an ice machine on the first floor with a supply of disposable ice buckets. No more ice buckets in the room that can be unsanitary at times. The front office staff was very friendly and helpful, and the housekeeping staff was courteous and very accommodating. An overall nice stay!

I stayed at the hotel for six months and had a very good experience; the location is excellent, with many nearby restaurants and easy access whether by car or on foot. It is close to the interstate exit and major local avenues. I recommend it 100%. The staff—from the manager to the housekeeping team—are very friendly and polite. Breakfast is good and served on China plates—nothing like disposable tableware—and the food offers plenty of variety. I will definitely return in the future.

Good location from Rt 81 travelers. Clean ,appointed king room but could use some tile and grout repairs. I felt that it was an okay value for the cost. I would stay here again. Great food at Hanks 10 minutes down the road.

We loved our room and it was very clean. Sarah was very kind and accommodating. We will definitely stay there again.

The room, the staff, the free breakfast options. Everything was great. This was our best Hotel on this specific journey. They get gold stars!!!

Location was good, price was reasonable. Breakfast was a little disappointing. I am used to the daily fresh cooked breakfasts from the Marriott Hotel chains, but it seems they are all resorting to prepared and frozen foods to save on cost and prep time.

Had a wonderful stay at this well-operated property. The customer service at this property was especially top notch, making an already comfortable stay that much better.

I was especially blown away by the exceptional guest relations/customer service provided by Arlette at the front desk - she really went out of her way to make us feel welcome!

The room was bigger than I thought and pretty clean: The bed was made sloppy but it worked. It was cool there was a kitchenette and separate bathroom area.

Excellent location, excellent facility, excellent staff. Only thing I think could be improved was bed comfort. They were firm for my liking and the pillows were also. Other than that great place

Room very comfortable and spacious

Check-in at the Residence Inn Harrisonburg, VA approx 5:30pm on 4/30 was terrific. Check-out at 8:00am on 5/1 was highly unsatisfactory. I was offered a different room and lower room rate at check-in. I accepted the offer and was grateful for the staff person who suggested it. The next morning, I saw my bill and discovered I was billed the higher rate. I asked the morning desk clerk about this. He said he would check with his manager (who was not currently available). I received an updated email later in the day (after I had long departed) with a bill for the exact same higher rare. There was no explanation regarding why the lower rare was not honored. I felt like I was either shooed away from the front desk in the morning so that they did not have to engage me in person with a negative response, or that the morning desk staff did a poor job of relaying my concern and ensuring appropriate customer service follow through. Either way I am left with a negative feeling from this Marriott location. It was very atypical compared to my previous experiences at numerous other Marriott sites.
