Quirky and historic, I enjoyed the whole experience in the middle of Riga Old Town
Pros:

The location was amazing - a little tricky to find when trailing a suitcase but maybe order a taxi. It's right in the Old Town, next to the Dome Cathedral and several excellent restaurant and bars. It makes sightseeing easy, and the reception team were laidback but helpful when asked.

It is also a very quirky building, with homages to the silent screen (there is some film link explained in the luggage room which I didn't quite understand) as well as great street art and the top of each landing, and architecture shots in the restaurant. Two lifts there so you could admire the impressive wooden staircase without having to scramble up it.

The room felt massive, with plenty of room and a huge comfy bed. For being in such a busy area, it was remarkably quiet - maybe because we were heading out of season. The room was a genuine joy to stay in. There were no coffee-making facilities however, and a meagre minibar with paid-for water and a bottle of Coke. The bathroom was a bit dated, with a shower tray that was very blocked (to be fair, I didn't tell them) and a wall-mounted 1980s hairdryer that dries by whispering persuasively at your hair, rather than using hot air.

Cons:

Breakfast was a little chaotic. I presume they know how many people are staying so perhaps could be a bit more prepared in terms of coffee cups (see my note about no coffee-making in rooms so of course that is going to be first thing people want), glasses, food... the poor servers were trying to keep up but failing. Quality of food was pretty good. Try the porridge, as the quality of breakfast porridge on my travels round the Baltics was immense.

I mentioned my points about bathroom facilities, and my room (406) was next to the stairs and housekeeping cupboard so there was a bit of noise in the mornings but not too early.

The only other thing I would mention was price-location-value of the stay. I stayed in a different boutique hotel on arrival a few days earlier, and it was pretty similar in experience. A smaller room but bathrooms were very similar, breakfast experience also as joyously chaotic, as much historic atmosphere, and reception team as eclectically helpful. But it was located 150m or so further out of Old Town so was half the price. Riga as a city is eminently walkable. Something to keep in mind - as ever, you perhaps pay for the location as much as the facilities.

Calme et bien situé
Pros:

Hôtel très bien situé dans la vieille ville. Tout est à proximité. Emplacement calme et chambre spacieuse.
Très bon petit déjeuner, autant sucré que salé.

Fantastiskt läge, men...
Pros:

Läget var perfekt! Många charmiga vinklar och vrår.

Cons:

Jag hittade en vägglus i min säng (som tur var innan jag sovit i den!). Jag sa till personalen och fick ett nytt (mycket bättre) rum som inte visade några tecken på vägglöss, men det var svårt att inte oroa sig för att få med det hem.

Old town'ın kalbinde güzel. Odası ferah, temizdi. Akşam çay istediğimizde ücretsiz olarak odamıza verdiler.

Cons:

Kahvaltı dahil almıştık ama kahvaltı yapamadık çünkü çeşit var gibi ama çeşit yoktu. Ürün açıklamaları ve adları yazmıyordu. Müslümanlar için helal alternatifler yoktu. Ürünler saatlerce üstü açık olarak beklemiş vaziyetteydi. Burada kalacaksanız ve müslümansanız kahvaltısız seçeneği seçmeniz iyi olabilir. Kişi başı 15 euro kahvaltı ücreti. Ücretini önceden konaklama ile beraber ödediğimiz için iadesini alamadık. Marketten kahvaltımızı yapmak durumunda kaldık. Wi-Fi çok kötüydü, kullanamadık. Konumdan dolayı akşam gürültü oluyor.

Das Hotel liegt sehr zentral, das Buffet war gut.

Cons:

Im Zimmer stank es stark nach Kanalisation. Für mich zu viel. Auf meine Frage hin meinte man, das liege am Alter der städtischen Kanalisation, es sei nicht ihr Fehler und Zimmerwechsel gehe auch nicht. Keine Empathie, dass mich das stört, und ich hatte das Gefühl, ich müsse mich einfach damit abfinden. Aber es scheint ein systematisches Problem zu sein. Nächstes Mal suche ich mir ein anderes Hotel.
