Pros:

My room was very nicely decorated & the bed was very comfortable. The pub itself was furnished well & had lovely decor. The location was great, situated in the centre of Lauder, only a 15 minute walk to Thirlestane Castle. Had a great stay.

Great place with very nice staff
Pros:

Room was large and comfy. Evening meal was 1st class. Not a huge menu but I would have eaten everything on it and what we did order was cooked to perfection.

Cons:

Breakfast was a bit of a let down. Black pudding was lovely but my poached egg was overcooked and the bacon was dry and hard to cut. All the ingredients seemed of good quality just let down by the cooking.

The room was in an annex which obviously just been converted so it was brand new. Evening meal was delicious. Staff friendly and helpful.

Quality hotel with quality staff
Pros:

We have stayed several times, always found it friendly and a joy to stay. I visit Edinburgh on business and would rather stay at the Back Bull than in Edinburgh. The food is excellent as well

lovely hotel in a quiet town, perfect for unwinding.
Pros:

We couldnt fault our stay, we loved the room (comfort and decor), and the food was delicious (huge portions!).

Cons:

I wish I'd opted for a late check out to have a more leisurely morning on departure day.

Lovely market town hotel, generously appointed rooms and very friendly staff.
Pros:

Our room was very modern and very spacious. The hotel common areas, restaurant, bar etc are also very well kept. Staff were also very friendly and efficient.

Cons:

Nothing to complain about, it was fantastic.

Would go again without hesitation and would highly recommend
Pros:

Fantastic new rooms in the Annexe with lovely bathroom and huge comfortable bed. Food is very good and good value for the massive portions. Excellent hosts and brilliant staff. We also loved the location although bear in mind travel to Edinburgh takes a while by bus or train from Stow if you don’t have a car.
