There was a staff member that was very rude over the phone. She caught a terrible attitude with me. Other than that everything was great.
The whole experience was wonderful. The person at the front desk was so nice answering all our questions and making us feel at home.
Everything about my stay exceeded expectations—from the staff’s warm, welcoming smiles to the spotless rooms and the delicious breakfast each morning. The attention to detail and level of service truly stood out. It felt like they rolled out the pink and green carpet for us as we conducted business, making the entire experience both comfortable and memorable. I will most definitely be booking here again.
AKA SERC Hospitality! The level of service we received was absolutely phenomenal. From the front desk staff Keke and Darius ingratiating way they answered all our questions and requests, to KD and Cynt in the serving area, to Kim Asst Mgr and Sharne, General mgr we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The decor, their attire, everything reflected AKA. We had an amazing time and felt at home.
I travel all over the country on business and have not experienced this level of customer service in a long time.

This Residence made a big impression on me. I had such a wonderful experience during my stay, and I especially want to recognize the staff member KD in the breakfast area. He went above and beyond to make every guest feel genuinely welcome. His kindness, patience, and positive attitude really stood out—it was clear he truly enjoys his job and takes pride in serving others.
KD created such a warm and inviting atmosphere each morning, which made a big difference in starting the day off right. It’s not often you come across someone who brings that level of care and energy to their role. Thank you for making the stay even more enjoyable!
I also want to highlight LaDarius for making the check-in process so smooth and welcoming. From the moment I arrived, he greeted me with warmth and professionalism. He was helpful, efficient, and set a positive tone for the entire stay.
Web site claims newly renovated. That hasn’t been true for years as demonstrated by the dinginess of the public spaces and my room. They were generous with towels and the kitchen was fairly useable. The room wasn’t dirty but could use a deep cleaning and steam vac. The bed was hard and the TV in the bedroom wasn’t fully functional. Pool is stuffed into a walled space with no room to sit around it. Elite wireless speed was decent but not consistent.
The price for what it is seemed fair but as a Marriott it needs some extra attention.
Been staying mostly here since the neighbors across the street cancelled our reservations after calling to confirm we still need the reservations. The staff here is very helpful and friendly. They do not act like you are bothering them if you need anything or have any questions. Close to Kirklin and other UAB buildings. Complimentary breakfast with something for everyone. Rooms are nice and spacious - two eye stove, full refrigerator, dishwasher, garbage disposal, and some rooms have tubs. Not far from several restaurants.
Keke at the front desk was super helpful and always cheerfully greeted us. The breakfast was delicious and the staff worked hard to keep the tables clean and food stocked. Great experience overall!

The dedicated dog area could have been totally fenced in.
We had another great stay at the Residence Inn. Clean, comfy and quiet. Ladarius was so welcoming. I at at the he nearby Fish Market restaurant! We shall return!
If the hotel website says: 'Free Coffee/Tea in Lobby', the surely that means 24/7 and NOT "JUST AT BREAKFAST" as the front desk clerk said to me tonight. I'd be happy to make my own if they provided hot water and milk.
Otherwise no major complaints. Breakfast is very typical of this type of hotel - badly made scrambled eggs and some kind of grey meat, cereals (mostly sugary), blah oatmeal, and breads/pastries. Plus the ubiquitous waffle maker. Rooms are very spacious and well appointed with full kitchen. Weirdly - no tea bags provided but there is popcorn! And no kettle for boiling water.
Few good eating places nearby.
I gave five stars, but only just! Mainly for the room. Blackout curtains could be better organised. Aircon OK although a bit loud.
I usually use a Hilton property when Im in Birmingham for my yearly checkup at UAB, but this time I decided to stay at the Courtyard this time. Ill be staying at the Courtyard from now on. They have a phenomenal staff! Keke went above and beyond helping me when I got there with my reservation.

We stayed at this hotel for one night and quite honestly it was a great experience.
After a mix up with our rooms and arrival dates we were so happy to have met Keke! Wow! She was professional, calm, methodical and most importantly so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Keke is an asset to this hotel, a wonderful human.
This is my first time in Birmingham Alabama and I am looking forward to visiting again. I will stay at this hotel again based on Keke’s professionalism.
