Simple stay in Sandakan
Pros:

The location is very good, just next to the central market and the sea. The staff is very friendly and helpful, they helped us getting a driver to Labuk Bay and our hotel in Sepilok. The breakfast is quite good with many options and a nice setting in front of the sea. The bed and pillows were very comfortable.

Cons:

The hotel needs a bit of maintenance, there are many broken and stained things in the room. Cleaning is also not great. I could not shower in the evening because there was no water pressure. We also had to turn off the AC because it was leaking. The general aspect of the bedroom is a bit old and not well kept.

The view and the locatiin

No storage in the room
No room safe
The toilet roll holder was coming away from the wall
The plug in the bathroom didn’t work
The telephone was broken snd didn’t work
The floor was dirty
Behind the beds was filthy

Pros:

They up graded my room as there was a leak from the a/c unit. Very comfortable bed, nice view

Cons:

Breakfast was not in the same building as the rooms, reception was not at the front of the hotel, not hard to find but not welcoming.
Loud music and Karaoke from the restaurants below. Window seals missing or needing replacing to reduce the level, would also help with the cost of cooling the room
