Hotel was dated, bed uncomfortable and check-in experience needs improving.
Great location, especially if you need to stay close to the central bus station.
The room was spacious with tea and coffee available.
The bedding was also really nice and air conditioning worked very well
The TV wasn’t working and although I informed reception, no action was taken to fix the issue.
The carpet had several large old stains and the furniture was quite worn.

Hearing from friends we were visiting the hotel is closing at the end of the month. We are naturally concerned for those who work there and who were so kind to us for their future jobs.

Room was ready before check in however there was a problem with the bed (noticeable on arrival). The staff were extremely helpful and relocated us again before check in time.

Great location, free parking in Cabot circus
Could've made it clearer that hotel parking is in Cabot Circus. We drive around 3 times looking for the hotel parking.
Location is fantastic. Staff were all lovely and helpful. Bed was comfortable, despite how firm it was, and honestly allowed me the best quality of sleep I've had in a long time. We were given a room away from the main road so it was nice and quite. Breakfast was very yummy indeed with a lot of variety. Honestly, just a great choice of stay, and with this being our second visit in about a year, the consistency has stayed the same as our last visit. Love the quality of stay for the relatively good prices compared to the rest of Bristol! Will return again!
Shower could have been stronger, and the door handle to the bathroom was very wobbly, and didn't lock either. There was also only plugs available on one side of the bed instead of either side, so it was a faff to charge my phone at night. These were truly the only downsides to our visit, which were very minor inconveniences compared to other hotels we've stayed at.
The location is perfect. In between the train station and the city centre. Lovely big rooms with an excellent choice of food outlets and the brilliant restaurant in the hotel.
The staff when checking in. They wanted a card to secure the room. We did the booking via Bookings.com and paid in advance. I produced a Chase Debit card and was told this was invalid as the card number isn’t on the card. When I challenged this, I was told to get another hotel. I was also told to check the T&C. I did, and it just shows that you have to have a valid card. Which I had. The duty manager was standing next to the clerk and also told me if I didn’t have a valid card, which Chase is, to find another hotel. I’ve never had such a bad experience upon check in my life. I like this hotel. Would I go back. I doubt it.
