This is pathetic of Marriot
Having stayed at the Montreal Airport Marriott In-Terminal Hotel on two previous occasions, with experiences that varied in quality, I am pleased to say that my third stay was truly outstanding.
Several factors contributed to this excellent experience. First and foremost, the hotel's location proved invaluable. Traveling from Quebec City in a rental car, a journey that would normally take between 2.5 and 3.5 hours, I decided to arrive the day before my flight after receiving advice not to risk potential travel delays. That decision was well justified. Due to ongoing airport construction, significant traffic congestion on Autoroute 20, and unclear signage for rental car returns, the trip ultimately took more than five hours door-to-door. Staying at the hotel eliminated the stress of navigating these challenges on the day of departure.
Despite being located directly within the airport and adjacent to construction activity, the guest rooms were exceptionally well soundproofed. I was impressed by how quiet and peaceful the environment remained throughout my stay. Previously, I had used the in-hotel spa but this time I did not have a chance. It's worth it.
Another highlight was the Executive Lounge on the ninth floor, which offered an excellent selection of evening refreshments and a substantial breakfast service. The accommodations themselves were spacious, impeccably maintained, and furnished with high-quality amenities that reflected the hotel's premium standard.
Overall, every aspect of this stay exceeded expectations. From arrival to check-in and throughout my visit, the experience was seamless, comfortable, and stress-free. For travellers requiring overnight accommodations before a flight from Montreal, I would highly recommend this hotel. Its combination of convenience, comfort, and exceptional service makes it an outstanding choice.
Proximity to the airport
The big upside for the hotel is its location in the terminal making it really useful if arriving on a late flight or leaving on an early one. The rooms are spacious and comfortable but surprisingly noisy. The noise seems to travel diagonally through the construction joins so is it someone above and to one side that you notice. Enough to wake us both up in the night. Window soundproofing is also not the greatest so airplane noise is noticeable. We used the concierge lounge which was quite small but seems to be able to cope with demand. Staff were really friendly and and the food offering is quite good. Note alcohol is not included and although you can order it looks like the staff have to go down to the bar to get your drink. Would we use it again, yes but use earplugs.
Booooo!! Marriott kicking “valued guests” out of their lobby after flights were canceled at YUL.
