Stay here when visiting Munich
Pros:

Located very close to a train stop it was easy to get here from our Munich airport arrival. The front desk person was a little stressed when we asked to have our luggage held while our room was being readied (lack of room) but he came around and ended up being very friendly and contacted us when the room was ready earlier than promised. We were on the 5th floor and the elevator had not been functioning the week before but happily it was upon our arrival. But Vladimir assured us that he would have carried our luggage up the stairs if the situation warranted it. We found the key to our room a little tricky to manage but Vladimir good naturedly showed us the trick. Our room was great- roomy and clean. Air conditioning was super. Very comfortable bed. The area is wonderful with shops, restaurants and transportation all within walking distance. The tram stop is right in front of the hotel as well. The breakfast offered is really nice. A bit pricey but if you go in with the idea it will serve as lunch as well, worth it. Free coffee, snacks, and non alcoholic beverages are on offer all day! That was super. Before leaving the very friendly front dest personnel helped me to download the transportation app and purchase the needed tickets for the train to our next destination. I wish I caught her name because she was so kind and spent a lot of time helping me.
Summary- super choice in Munich! We would definitely return if we get to return to this lovely city!

Nothing - it was excellent!

Great way to experience d Munich and not feel like a tourist
Pros:

Great location. Neighborhood was lovely and quiet but still close to the center of town. Very easy to use public transportation. The train station was right in front of the hotel. And, breakfast was delicious.

Lovely, convenient hotel
Pros:

Lovely, stylish, comfortable single, quiet room. It had everything I needed and I heard no noise from outside my room. Very convenient to Ost Station - it's only a few steps from the pedestrian underpass (very helpful as it was raining heavily). The receptionists were friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was good, the breakfast rooms spacious and the staff brought freshly made coffee. The honour bar system is a good idea - I bought a small bottle of wine to go with the delicious kebab I bought from the shop next door.

Cons:

Nil.

Great location and great service!
Pros:

The hotel is located in a beautiful neighborhood. It is literally second to the train station and the subway line. The vibe of the Neighbourhood was great and I was able to find little gems walking around. The hotel offered free drinks and free snacks and there was a variety to choose from. That was most appealing.

Cons:

The TV in the room needs to be a smart TV so you can cast from your telephone or from your iPad since nothing on the TV was in English. Also, Netflix should’ve been offered. My room was a bit small for an upgrade to the urban suite, but I had a great view facing the train station.

Lovely hotel in a nice neighbourhood and with transit connections to just about everything.
Pros:

A key factor in our choosing the Moma1890 hotel was its proximity to the S8 S-bahn line that links it directly to Munich Airport. The entrance to the hotel is about 5-steps away from the top of the stairs from the S-bahn/U-bahn stations. As others have mentioned it's across the street from the Ostbahnhof (East train station) and also has tram and bus lines crisscrossing outside. That said, from our 4th floor room we heard nothing but the odd emergency vehicle siren, no transit vehicle rumbling at all and we had a corner room facing both main streets.

We arrived on a Saturday morning on a trans-Atlantic flight. Normally it would be a 30-minute ride on the S8 to the hotel, unfortunately there was maintenance on the line and we ended up taking the S1 with a couple of transfers and arrived after about an hour on public transit. It was late morning, well ahead of normal check in but the desk staff still checked with housekeeping to see if there was a room available. There wasn't and the hotel still agreed to hold our bags while we went out.

We took the tram to Marienplatz in time to catch the Noon performance of the Rathaus-Glockenspiel after which we walked to the Viktualienmarkt and had a couple of Bratwursts for lunch. Having flown overnight we were fatigued and returned to the hotel still ahead of official check in however there was a room available and we were happy to accept the physical metal key to our room.

The room itself was spacious and in typical European style, the Queen size bed is actually two extra long Twin size beds pushed together and with a duvet for each. Each side of the bed has a shelf and power outlet, the room itself has two separate chairs, a desk with a lamp and a couple of conveniently located outlets. On the desk is also a bottle of water and a couple of glasses.

Instead of drawers are a serious of cubbies, a rod and hangers. The room has a second inner door separating the bedroom from the anteroom and the door to the bathroom. The bathroom itself has a shower stall and some high quality liquid soap/shampoo/conditioner products in dispensers.

Outside of breakfast hours, the dining room is open and features complimentary soft drinks and some snacks. Note, these are not constantly replenished so selection may vary. There's also a selection of beers available and you need to self report any that you take to enjoy.

Our stay was in early May and we had no trouble with room temperature but we never did figure out the controls for the HVAC unit.

Our preference was to do our own thing for breakfast and we took advantage of their being a Lidl literally across the road where we could purchase fresh Croissants and Pain au Chocolat (among others) and coffee was available there from a machine or freshly made from a shop in the Ostbahnhof. Note, Lidl is closed on Sunday so on that day we got our pastries and coffee at the train station.

There are a number of restaurants that are walkable from the Hotel and many, many that are within easy reach of transit. Lastly, there's a bank and an ATM on the ground floor of the building so getting Euros is pretty easy.

All told, we loved the location, we were grateful for how accommodating and friendly the staff were, and we loved how easy it was to get anywhere in Munich from the hotel.
