Historic hotel, perfect in every way
Pros:

My stay at Le Metropole was perfect. Room was comfortable, decent value, and full of charm. The hotel has beautifully maintained it's historic character without the bland modernization that so many hotels do in their guest rooms. Having breakfast (or any meal) on the rooftop of Le Metropole is my favorite dining spot in Egypt. The food is solid, the staff kind, the view of the Mediterranean / Fort Qaitbay spectacular, and even in summer it's pleasantly breezy. The location of the hotel is ideal in the heart of Alexandria. If you have extra time in Alexandria and just want to relax, I recommend paying the extra $25 for a day pass at their sister property near Montaza. (You can either use free hotel transport, or take your own and make a stop either at Montaza Palace grounds, at the Royal Jewelry Museum - also a former princess palace. Special highlights that won't come again: riding one of the last trams (streetcars) along the coast to Anfushi Tombs, and watching the midnight celebrations beneath my hotel balcony of Egypt at the World Cup!

"للأسف تجربة الإقامة كانت سيئة. عند تسجيل الدخول واجهت مشكلة في بطاقتي البنكية وطلبت الدفع نقداً، فأخبرني موظف الاستقبال بعدم وجود متبقي نقدي (فكة). وعند المغادرة رفضوا إرجاع الباقي بحجة عدم وجود المحاسب. لاحقاً، تواصلوا معي وطلبوا مني تصوير بطاقتي الائتمانية لإرسال الباقي، وهذا إجراء غير منطقي وغير آمن لبياناتي البنكية. بالإضافة إلى ذلك، المصعد ضيق جداً، وهناك مشكلة في أبواب الغرف تحتاج صيانة، والإطلالة البحرية سيئة ولا تطابق الوصف

Einmaliges Hotel
Pros:

Das Hotel als historisches Haus hat einen unglaublichen Charme. Es fühlt sich wie eine Zeitreise an. Der Blick von der Terrasse im 5.Stock ist atemberaubend. Das Personal absolut liebenswürdig und zuvorkommend.

Cons:

Da kann das Hotel nichts dafür: Dank der einmaligen Lage nahe an der Strandpromenade ist der Straßenlärm gut zu hören. Oropax hilft.
