Nada a reclamar.
The reception area was clean and welcoming. The air conditioning was welcoming. The location was good for the tubes.
Although the staff welcomed us, they continued to have conversations between themselves.... Our room stank of cigarettes, the smell inside was stale. We had to have the windows open. The towels smelt musty and were dirty. The draws in the desk didn't open, and the wardrobe doors didn't shut properly. There was only 1 double plug socket in the room.
Sentralt og lett å komme til :)
God AC på rommet og god seng.
Behagelig opphold!
that it was close by to the undergrounds and in walking distance to shops
our room started flooding the key card didnt work sometimes the staff walked right in the room 10 minutes after we checked in for no reason the electricity went in our room only aswell
Wonderful to have a portable aircon unit in the room. To relief the heat!
It was very quite and the air con was excellent
It was generally clean but need the build up doing around certain edges.
The shower had stains and the cubical was falling apart.
Pillows very lumpy and no extra just 1
And the walk around the bed was almost impossible due to lack of space.
The location of the hotel and the communal areas were very clean and modern looking.
Our room (119) was very dated and definitely in need of updating. The room had numerous problems with it, namely the decor was very poor, the shower head was practically falling off the ceiling, the panel where the key card is inserted kept falling off the wall, to name a few.
Close to my the location I wanted
Good location
We chose this hotel as it was recommended on the Amex app with a deal.
The hotel is well situated and easy to get to with plenty of transport near by and amenities.
The hotel is connected to a Chaiiwala restaurant which was lovely, and the breakfast included in the hotel payment was there, it was great each morning, coming with chicken sausages, turkey bacon, hashbrowns, beans, egg and toast. However, if you wanted English breakfast tea – it wasn’t an option and the teabags given were chai.
We love Indian food and they had a great choice for lunch.
You can also pay £5 each day to access the gym 2 doors down.
There are several pubs within walking distance, lots of takeaways and shops locally too.
The rooms are clean but very basic and in need of some modernisation.
As we were visiting in summer, I was relieved to discover air conditioning which worked well! I would have appreciated some water in the room, when I asked the front desk whether I could get water he told me to go to Tesco or the local store. Even though I could see a fridge of bottles of water in the lobby.
The bathroom was not the best, the door to the shower did not have adequate fittings and stayed open whilst showering, flooding the bathroom floor which we had to use our towels each day to soak up. The curtain track in the main room fell down every time we opened or closed the curtains.
When we went out for the day, despite putting the housekeeping request on the door and switching on the designated light to indicate the room was ready to be cleaned, we would return to hotel around 3pm-4pm to get ready for our evenings and the rooms had not been turned down, had twice ran out of toilet roll and had no clean/dry towels to use, this happened every day. The rooms would be done by the time we returned at 10pm or so, but I really think that guests staying should be a priority.
Immediate recommendations to elevate the hotel would be:
- More milk sachets provided in room for teas and coffees.
- Water in the rooms.
- Wine glasses in the rooms for guests to use.
- Fix shower fittings.
- Fix curtain poles.
- Get housekeeping to do service earlier in the day.
Nevertheless, based on the location, the cost and the breakfast at Chaiiwala, I would consider staying again, its not the worst place to settle after long days out.
The location was pretty good. It is close to the overground and the underground, just a few minutes of walking. There is also a supermarket across the street. I also liked the fact that the room had AC.
The first room that we received did not look like the photos on booking. It was way smaller and darker, the bedsheets were stained and the room smelled mouldy. I asked the guy at the reception to change rooms and he let me pick from a few that were free. The layout was the same for all (so not like in the photos) but at least the room we picked was clean and did not smell. The reception has no AC so it was very hot and humid there. The area is also a bit shady, especially at night.
