The Madurai Residency

The passageway was very narrow...very little space between the lift door and our room door (might be because of the rooms we were given). Also the reception and dining areas could have been more aesthetically designed.

Very limited choice of food and availability

.​Cons: I had a disappointing experience primarily due to the unprofessional behavior of the front desk staff, specifically a night shift receptionist named Vignesh. He was consistently rude and dismissive. In one instance, he told me the restaurant was closed; however, when I went to the 6th floor myself, the restaurant staff was helpful and happy to take my order.

​On another occasion, I called for water and was told to contact housekeeping. When no one picked up the phone, I had to go downstairs and get the bottles myself. When I tried to raise these concerns with other staff members, they were defensive of his behavior rather than being helpful. For a hospitality business, the front desk tone and service were unacceptable.

​Regarding the room (Room 301), it was very small and felt congested. To make matters worse, the AC was not functioning properly during my stay.

​While the location is great, the management needs to focus on staff training and room maintenance. I would expect much better service for the price.

Poor service, cancelled reservation on short notice and left me in the road.

Not worth the money definitely. The amount of money you pay for the kind of property it is, is not justified. Looks quite old the way it is but the 3-star hotel rating doesn't definitely justify itself. The rooms were quite small firstly, we booked two rooms and requested for one of them to be changed, when they showed us the other room, we kept telling them if possible give us the rooms on the same floor which we understood was not possible for that day but we insisted that please try for the next day, to which the staff member started responding in an irritated tone. When we again talked to the guy on the front desk in the evening, he too wasn't very polite in the way he spoke. Then at night, we realised that our room door didn't lock because of which we had to change the room at 12am, which is way too late for my parents to be awake. Then in our other room the AC wasn't cooling properly, which they fixed the next day. Apart from all this, there weren't any fridges in the rooms which is fine but they didn't even have cold water to give us, if we wanted chilled water, we had to buy it from their restaurant. Funnily enough even in the restaurant, when we asked for ice, we were told its over. Lastly, the bathroom also stank. So overall not very happy with the stay, they shouldn't be charging 4000 a night, that's quite an oversell for this property. I don't think this hotel should charge more than 1500 per night. Oh and also, they took the complete payment at the time of check-in, so we couldn't even do anything.

Disappointed by the service and the cleanliness. My friend got a bad allergic reaction because of the dust in the room, and when we asked for it to be cleaned, we were met by a very rude member of staff. We ended up leaving a day early because of this.

Food options. We reached in the evening after a long travel and were starving. While the reception advised us that snacks would be available in the restaurant, apart from plain coffee, there was nothing else. For a hotel of this stature, this is unacceptable

Personale pessimo. Avevo scritto in anticipo la richiesta di una stanza tripla e avevo una email di risposta con accettazione della richiesta. Non solo non erano pronti, ma sono stato trattato con grande scortesia e arroganza da parte di tutto il personale. comportamento vergognoso.

The first room allocated to us had a significant number of small cockroaches. Although we were moved to another room, we still noticed one cockroach on the second night.
No iron box was provided in the room, which would have been a useful amenity.

I stayed for 3 nights with family with two rooms. The only problem we faced was ,that in both the rooms the sliding door of the shower area was missing. Due to this after shower , water spilled near the wash basin area and was carried to the room. Hope the hotel gives attention to this problem.
The property is slightly overpriced.
Breakfast was good.😊
lunch & dinner was average.😔
