When in Rome, make Hotel Locarno your home!
Pros:

Pulling up to Hotel Locarno in our cab excited me! Such a perfect location near Borghese Gardens and Piazza Popoli, and maybe too close to high end shops we were drawn to. The front desk staff greeted us with genuine warmth and informed us we had received a room upgrade. Our bags were quickly moved to our rooms and waiting for us after speedy check-in. Hotel Locarno is classy with a distinct character not found in other hotels. The rooms were designed and furnished to remind guests the special history Hotel Locarno has.
Breakfasts, made to your tastes, were amazing. And the servers were the friendliest, tolerating our English only language with big smiles. Charming pubic spaces are inviting. We chose one to play a game of Hearts. The front desk arranged our many taxi rides and generously gifted us one of their tasty anniversary rum cocktails-try one! Hotel Locarno works hard to satisfy your every need and is the reason we will return to Rome. Thank you Hotel Locarno!

First-class but not perfect
Pros:

Splendid design, either in the rooms or in the common areas. Staff is very professional and always paying attention to your needs. We loved the breakfast: it's a la carte, but each dish was succulent. Served in a lovely courtyard. Cocktails at the bar were also outstanding. There is a small gym (which was a nice surprise, as I had not spotted its presence when I made the booking).

Cons:

One of the main reason why we had selected this particular hotel was the rooftop terrace. We were very disappointed to hear upon arrival that is was not open. They only open it from mid-May until end of July, then re-open it for a few weeks in September (closed in August).
Our room was not one of the corner rooms and therefore was a bit dark due to the presence of a single window facing the inner courtyard.

A luxurious stay in the center of Rome for maximum sightseeing in minimal time.
Pros:

The room was wonderful! The bathroom was luxurious and the bed was extremely comfortable. The staff were helpful and facilitated easy access to everything. The cleaning staff were efficient and professional.

Cons:

Taking a shower was a bit more tricky as the shower head is dead center of the tub, right at the spot where the shower doors open so water tended to spill onto the floor. The food menu was OK.

Perfect spot to explore Rome and to relax
Pros:

This was our first visit to Hotel Locarno but I am confident it will not be our last. It was the perfect spot to enjoy Rome. Really well located and everything walkable. More importantly the hotel is just a gem. It has an unformal family feel but combined with top notch food and service. Amazing breakfast and great cocktails too. It was just so easy to relax. Thank you Hotel Locarno for looking after us so well.
