Room was well appointed with wine and treats provided free of charge.
Towels were plush and the overall amenities were of a great standard.
Bar and restaurant on site was a great space.
The room was a bit on the smaller side with not a great amount of hanging space which made it a bit cramped with 2 suitcases for 2 nights, but really not that big a deal but just to be aware of.
Is a distance from the city center (20 - 30 minute walk) to go for a meal if you want to have a drink and not drive but again not really a big deal.
The room was warm, the bed comfortable and great hot water in the shower. Car park was at the front of the room. An added bonus was that is was quiet - so a good lot of considerate people were there at the time.
The furnishings seemed a bit dated but ok for an overnight stay.
Comfortable but could hear guests in upper level
A little far out of town
Easy to find, ample parking, lovely room, clean and well maintained with good facilities.
I liked our room and the beautiful big bath fresh towels and products.
Our room was upstairs and as we are elderly it was difficult to climb stairs. I wouldn't have booked it if I'd known.
Very clean, spacious and comfortable. A big thanks for the snacks provided and enjoyed a pizza in the restaurant. Restaurant staff very helpful and attentive. This is our second time here and would recommend.

Cute ,cozy ,clean and comfortable
Nothing I didn’t like.
The room and the location were good. The cleaning service for the room and the booking process could have been improved.
Very comfy, good shower power, nice staff member. Easy communication, good location.
My family made a reservation for 3 rooms - In: Friday 24 July, Out: Sunday 26 July, 2026. Reservation booking was made early July and when arriving Reception said only two rooms were booked. For the missing reservation there was a nice upgrade. The other rooms were upstairs and quite difficult for a man of 89 years to climb up and down especially when raining. We left our wet towels on the floor and the bed unmade. It was quite a shock to return to the room later to discover towels not replaced. That was the case in the two rooms. Due to no phone in either room it was necessary to walk in the heavy rain and ask at Reception for the towels to be replaced and said we would make the beds. It was a very disappointing experience. The hotel said an ironing board and iron would be in the room but they were not. For $220 a night per room it was not worth it.
We had the breakfast buffet and it was nice. Hotel did lack atmosphere.
For anyone considering this hotel for a family trip I would advise to think twice.
Nice place, great friendly staff, easy to find. Free bottle of wine
All good
Breakfast was pretty good. No tomatoes though
We weren’t told the restaurant had a large function and half the menu was therefore unavailable to us. No bar snacks either.
The room was spacious, well furnished and perfectly clean.
I liked the complimentary nibbles and water, nice touch
Room was upstairs, it rained and the stairs were slippery. The whole place had a motel vibe with the cars parked in front of your door
We recently stayed at the Mercure Barossa Valley and overall had a pleasant experience. The location was excellent, providing a great base for exploring the region, and our room was lovely, clean, spacious, and very comfortable for a family stay.
One feature we particularly appreciated was the in-room laundry facilities. Travelling with children often means plenty of washing, so having a combined washing machine and dryer in the room was incredibly helpful. As a suggestion, it would be beneficial to provide simple operating instructions, perhaps via a QR code, for guests who may not be familiar with combined washer-dryer units.
A special mention must go to the receptionist who checked us in. Unfortunately, I didn't catch her name, but she was exceptionally friendly and provided a warm and genuine welcome that immediately made us feel at home. The breakfast team were also fantastic, including the chef, who was welcoming and attentive.
Unfortunately, our experience with another staff member, Caitlin, was disappointing. Prior to arrival, I phoned the hotel to request an early check-in due to our flight arriving early. I completely understood that an early check-in could not be guaranteed, as it is simply a request, but the interaction left me feeling as though I was being a nuisance for asking. It was an unpleasant experience that unfortunately stood out.
I believe the same staff member assisted me at check-out, and the interaction was equally disappointing. Despite there being no other guests waiting, there was no greeting, acknowledgement, or enquiry about how my stay had been. After typing on the computer for some time, the only words spoken were "checking out?" before taking the key and ending the interaction. A simple "How was your stay?", "Have a safe trip", or "We hope to see you again" would have made a significant difference.
It's unfortunate that one negative service experience can overshadow so many positive interactions. The majority of the staff were excellent, particularly the check-in receptionist and the breakfast team. However, as frontline employees represent the face of the hotel, I believe there is an opportunity for additional customer service and people skills training to ensure guests receive a consistently warm and welcoming experience.
Overall, the hotel itself, the room, and most staff members were great, but the inconsistency in customer service impacted my overall rating.
