Raina Holiday Accommodation

Where do I start. There were so many problems that the host completely did not take responsibility for. When letting them know all the problems, we were forced to either stay there and suck it up or leave and cut our loses by paying to stay somewhere else, which is what we were forced to do.
The place was dirty. One of the toilets had a poo stains, there was a dirty old rat trap right beside the sink and stove, which completely put me off cooking in the kitchen. The oven was filthy, I stayed completely away from that. We found blood stains on one of the sheets, the towels were all stained. The walls seems to release this black stuff that got worse the longer we were there. The back door would not latch shut, forcing us the barricade it with furniture while we slept and could not leave valuables behind when we left the house. There was fresh rat dropping in the kitchen every morning and the last straw came when the wind calmed and the sun came out and we thought we could at least hang out on the deck and enjoy the beach, we were then forced to stay inside with closed doors as we found out there was a swam of wasps living in the ceiling and they were very aggressive, they actually started coming in through the hole where the light was in the lounge. It was pretty scary. When letting the host know all these things, and begging for our money back so we could go somewhere else, she sent her workers over to us with new towels, like that would solve our problem. She has since messaged trying to explain away everything but this is obviously an ongoing problem, and her lack of accountability is frustrating. So we are out of pocket but at least our holiday was salvaged by leaving there. The house needs a MAJOR fixing up, I’m sure once upon a time it was a beautiful house, but that would have been years and years ago. Still waiting to see if the host is going to do the right thing and give me a refund.

There was a hornet / wasps nest on the verandah but fortunately they stayed close to it and weren’t a nuisance. The photos attached to this listing aren’t that accurate any more and there is no specific address so it’s difficult to find.

This accommodation had everything I needed

We didn’t get the accommodation we booked.
We booked the charming white two-story free-standing building and ended up in a larger concrete apartment complex “Raina Beach Apartments”.
The original accommodation was “not ready yet” according to housekeeping staff.
Overall the apartment was all right but we were still disappointed.

The room is showing some age, and some restoration could go a long way.

Limpezas

I was going to email Tania but can’t find the address. There was mould in the grout of the shower, mould on the corner of the shower door jam, there was heaps of food in the freezer, an more food was added on the day some one changed the sheets/towels. It sounded like someone was throwing roof tiles one morning at about 7:30, so not very relaxing. The mum did apologize and ask did they wake me, I was already awake with the roosters but even so it’s not really acceptable when people are staying on holiday.

Emailed twice and they did not reply
There was a smell of gas although host argued that it was malodour
Could not access key and did not get shown on arrival as host said did happen
Place was dirty, cobwebs, broken fittings, bed slid across floor
Dreadful. We hated it

Nothing

Upon arriving there was meats in the freezer that belonged to the manager there,the housekeeper asked if was ok to store it there I said NO as I paid for the room
I asked the housekeeper if someone was in the room before me she said NO why I asked this question was the rubbish bin was half full,I was very upset to find that someone opened the screen door left it open while I had a nap not just that while I was out a large tub of yogurt was put in the freezer,that was my room I paid for and that was invading my privacy how damn rude is that? Yet again housekeeping said it belonged to the owner Mama June that is unacceptable and now I'm being blamed for losing the key to the room which I never touch
They have a code you placed the key inside which means you don't take the key with you ,I have no intentions of paying for something I didn't touch and diffinately would not go back there, I just found out a friend that stayed there experienced the same thing as me
First time I've stayed in a place where it was simply not to the standards you should expect to arrive too.
