Lots of character, central to everything in downtown Victoria.
Pros:

The location is quite central - lots of interesting local small eateries off the "tourist" beaten path, which I really enjoy. If you really want the tourist experience, the walk down to the main drag is a quick 5 minutes to Government Street and the harbor. This is an iconic property as well - lots of character. Beds are amazing. Staff members are exceptional. Very accommodating. The bar is also convenient if you want a quick drink and some social time.

Cons:

Would like a more suitable business center while waiting for a room (on the main level) rather than the lower level but this is a historic building and that might be a challenge to add.

Staff was awesome, room was clean, loved our stay.
Pros:

The staff was awesome. They helped us with our e-bikes and were very nice and helpful. I didn't like that my booking was for 352.65 and my receipt was for $485.93. There was some talk about a credit but this should be outlined in my receipt and it doesn't seem to match what i heard was the credit amount.....

Great cyclist-friendly hotel
Pros:

The hotel staff were all so nice and accommodating to my husband and I. Victoria was our last stop on a multi-day bikepacking trip and they made us feel welcome. We loved being able to store our bikes safely and enjoy a hot shower and comfortable room. The location was also great for exploring the city easily.

Beautiful older hotel. Very clean and staff was very accommodating.
Pros:

The location was amazing.

Cons:

The beautiful corner suite we were in was a little too close to the late/early morning downtown “energy”. 😊

Five flights is a lot of stairs when the elevator's not working.
Pros:

The lobby and rooms of the hotel are comfortable and well appointed. There's a great bar on the first floor with wonderful staff.

Cons:

The property never informed us that their elevator was out until after we arrived, although we recieved several text messages about our arrival time. The hotel then "upgraded" us to an accessible king room, which wasn't much of an upgrade, since no one with mobility issues could have reached the room on the 4th floor (5 flights of stairs) without an elevator. While we are able to climb stairs, we should have been notified and offered options for our stay (my husband is 76 years old).

Mooi stadshotel
Pros:

Mooi gebouw op een goede locatie. Nette kamer. Goede prijs-kwaliteit verhouding. Producten van l’occitane in de badkamer.

Cons:

De look van de badkamer mag een beetje opgefrist worden. Hij was een beetje kaal, maar wel heel proper.

Great rooms, elevators may not be working
Pros:

The king room is spacious. The room was very clean. It included a microwave, small refrigerator and coffee maker. There is a restaurant and bar but we did not use.

Cons:

The elevator was broken for the entire weekend. Although the staff arranged for our room to be moved to a lower floor accommodating inability to carry luggage up four flights of stairs....there was no apparent effort to fix the problem when the hotel was full of customers.

First Class Accommodation by Hotel Rialto!
Pros:

Absolutely Top Shelf Service and Accommodations! It was our 30th Anniversary, and upon that discovery, the Hotel bumped us up to their Beautiful Suite Room at no charge! It was Incredible! The Staff was so wonderfully attentive and friendly! They responded to any request with professionalism and care! We will definitely be back! Thank you, Rialto!!
