Amazing views from the building. Interesting building. We had a nice bar meal in the cloisters and a drink in the rococo ceiling room.
The street parking was hard or quite expensive.
We expected it to be included in the price.
should have been a pleasant stay at a historic property in a beautiful if a particularly distasteful employee hadn't ruined my mood for my whole stay.
The lock to my door was broken and the imperious, self-important empty suit who appeared to be the front desk manager not only refused to admit the lock was broken, he implied that I was incompetent at opening doors. It's a historic property and the doors have old style metal keys. Well, when I first checked in the key wouldn't open the door. It just kept turning in circles in the cylinder. I got one of the cleaning staff who after fiddling with the lock, got me in, I hoped it was just a fluke, I left the room for a while, and when I went back up, my key wouldn't work again. Nothing would catch to open the lock, the key kept turning. I've experienced broken cylinders, which this obviously was. So I went downstairs and mentioned it to the guy at the desk who came up. It took him a few tries and he got the door open, claiming everything was OK. But it wasn't, and he should have known the cylinder was broken, He neither offered a change of room or to get a locksmith to check the lock. Later that evening the key somehow worked easily, by turning it slightly to the left, and I could feel the lock catch. But the next morning no matter how many tries I couldn't get the door open. I got a younger guy from the desk to come up to help. He had the same experience as me, key turning in circles, then after several tries somehow got it open. He said the lock was clearly broken and they'd get a locksmith to fix it after I checked out (It was a one night stay). Just as I was leaving the hotel I saw the joker who denied any problem and told him to look forward to my review and that his colleague could tell him the lock was broken after all. This person should not be in a public-facing position. People expect a certain level of service and respect at Paradores, not the disdain of some bureaucrat who practices wilful mendacity and poor public relations.

Posizione eccezionale
Struttura ottima
Staff poco gentile
