Location and friendly staff
Wonderful hotel with such great food
Great location excellent staff
Lovely hotel, rooms and restaurant were very good. Bar downstairs was excellent. Great location overlooking the harbour.
Parking is a little tricky especially during the regatta week. We got the park and ride and it's really no hassle at all, 5 mins on the bus and they run all day.
Location was great, room was large and bed was comfy with a great view
Bathroom had a very fousty smell
No air con. When you pay that much for 1 night it would have been good to have air con or even extra fans, it was uncomfortably hot
We had 3 days with you and everything great but slightly disappointed on 2nd & 3rd morning at breakfast
First morning breakfast was perfect, 2nd morning was a change of staff and service wasn’t good, ordered tea & coffee but didn’t come, food we ordered came wrong and felt rushed out, next morning was the same woman as the day before, we made sure we got or tea & coffee before ordering our breakfast, again she got my breakfast wrong and we definitely had the feeling of being rushed out and it was only 9:30am, it felt like she had no experience within the hospitality industry. Tall lady.
Great dining room
Unfortunately the extractor fan was located next to our bedroom window, I raised this question on arrival and the manager told me it would go off at 10.00 pm....it didn't, it continued unrelentingly all night. Dreadful experience.
This is a very welcoming and attractively presented hotel with a comfortable, informal atmosphere. Our room was at the top of the hotel, with a view of the town and the hills beyond. The room was attractive, clean, a good size, although the sloping eaves meant it was a little smaller than it looked. The bed was very large and very comfortable, the ensuite offered a good shower (no bath). The room had a minibar, a coffee machine, and teabags, biscuits etc, two easy chairs and a small table. At the top of the hotel, the room was very warm during the hot weather, but an electric fan helped to ease this. Breakfast was in the comfortable and attractive dining room which looks over the river. There was a lot of choice and good coffee. There was a small buffet, and a wide range of dishes that could be ordered from the menu.
The hotel warns that there are a lot of stairs to reach the rooms near the top of the hotel. We are fit and mobile, and still found them quite the climb at the end of a long day of walking. Take the warning seriously, we did see people struggling with the stairs. If you are very tall, you might want to avoid the rooms with the sloping eaves. I'm small, but even I knocked my head once or twice while using the coffee machine, which was under the eaves.
Perfect location, lovely refurbished room, great onsite facilities, extensive breakfast options and excellent staff.
There is no lift in the property but the staff are on hand to help if required.
Just a very nice place to stay
Staff very friendly
Love the interior of the place tooo!!!
Nothing
Great location
There was a wedding in the hotel which took over one of the bars also due to the wedding the other bar closed early so unable to get a nightcap before bed, we should've been informed prior to our stay and times need to be stuck too regarding the bars especially for paying hotel guest.
