Hotel with interesting history within Caernarfon City Wall
Pros:

Great location within Caernarfon’s historic city walls. Our room was comfortable, although the bathroom and the shower especially were very small/tight. There are quite a few stairs to the rooms, which is worth knowing in advance.

The bar downstairs is lovely. The staff were polite but rather reserved. We didn’t have breakfast due to our early departure.

Parking is available next to the hotel for £13, although free parking can also be found in the town centre. Caernarfon itself is a charming town and definitely worth visiting.

Beautiful place and premises. We absolutely loved the native Welsh speaking aspect.
Pros:

Caernarfon is absolutely beautiful as is the Black Boy Inn itself. The staff were lovely.

Cons:

For meat eaters without allergies, the food looked and smelled excellent. As a vegetarian coeliac, the options were very limited and a little bland. I fully accept that I’m the awkward one here, but if might be worth looking at those options. The 5 bean chilli was very bland. The breakfast was ok, but not remarkable.

An absolute gem within the old city walls
Pros:

What an absolute joy of a place to stay! I'd expected it to be good, from what I'd read up on beforehand, but the reality was even better. We splashed out on the four-poster room, and it was totally worth it.
High praise for all the staff we had any interactions with, who were without fail lovely, welcoming, caring folk. We didn't eat evening meals there, but the breakfasts were first-class and excellent value.

Cons:

Nothing at all to dislike.

Modern rooms. Inside castle walls with Caernarfon castle 2 mins away, the location is amazing.

Cons:

I stayed in one of the basement or lowest floor rooms where you cannot open windows, which was inconvenient.
