Wonderful stay at Hotel Gletschergarten! This was our first stop on our Switzerland holiday and we are so glad we picked this hotel. The hospitality was amazing, with the interaction with the family owners a joy. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The location excellent and within walking distance to activities in the area. The included breakfast was a great way to start our day and the coffee was amazing. Our only regret was not planning more time there and we will definitely do that next time.

Sehr nettes und überdurchschnittlich engagiertes Besitzer-Ehepaar; gemütliches Zimmer und sehr gutes Frühstück; wenn man keine Lust verspürt, abends ewig eine Gaststätte zu suchen, kann man sehr gut im Hotel Gletschergarten selbst essen;
Ort ist am Tag sehr lebendig, wird aber in der Nacht deutlich ruhiger;

A wonderful hotel with an amazing view from the balcony of our room! Gerry, Gabriela and their team were very responsive and great hosts!!

Gabriela and Gery are superb hosts of their delightful hotel that has been in the family for over 125 years. And it shows as it is wonderfully relaxed and yet extremely efficiently run. Very comfortable bedroom with superb views up to the mountains from the spacious balcony.
Nothing is too much trouble and of course their knowledge of everything in the area is second to none.
Excellent breakfasts and dinners. Very friendly and efficient service at all meals.
The position of the hotel on the edge of Grindelwald is absolutely perfect. A bus outside the door to the station or chairlifts or mountains!! Away from the throng of tourists in the centre.
It is a must stay place!

This was one of our favorite stays in Switzerland! My daughter stayed here on her honeymoon, recommended it, and we are so glad she did. First off, when we arrived, there had been an issue with our reservation and my card payment. They tried to rectify it multiple times but had no luck with the reservation system we used. Thankfully, they kept space available for us by upgrading to a lovely, 2 bedroom apartment with the most amazing view! The breakfast is all you could ask for in the morning and the location is perfect! It's an easy walk to either of the gondola's and either a short bus ride or a fun walk through town to the train. The place was immaculate and all the staff were extremely friendly. It is the quintessential Swiss hotel and you won't be disappointed.

This is a fabulous hotel. The views are spectacular, the hosts are so gracious and helpful, and the location can't be beat. We loved it.

Located under the imposing and breathtaking peaks of the Eiger, Monch, and Schreckhorn, Hotel Gletschergarten is a wonderful place to stay.
Our room was well appointed and the bathroom was updated and modern. The hotel is full of interesting architectural details. They have a breakfast buffet filled with local cheese and traditional Swiss breakfast items.
The hosts Gabriela and Gery are 4th and 5th generation owners of the hotel and they are extremely welcoming and enthusiastically share their knowledge of the area. My wife and I were on our 4th day of a driving tour, and maybe a little naively surprised by the numbers of other tourists. We asked Gery and his wife for a hiking trail that might be less crowded. The came up with a great suggestion that was both stunningly beautiful and without other people. In the 7 miles we hiked we encountered maybe 5 other people. It was mostly just nature and the wonderful serenade of the cows and their bells. It was perfect. We even found some " wild cheese and sausage" which was a remote barn with a fridge full of local cheese and sausage and a honor system payment box. It was a perfect day all thanks to Gery and Gabriela!

The view was unbelievable! The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was very good.

Fantastic stay with my teenage son. So relaxing and beautiful and great really helpful hosts. Lovely to sit on the balcony or terasse with a glass of wine and the views 😀

A group of 4 women, ages 70 - 81 did a supported hike (luggage transfer) in the Jungfrau region of the Alps. Gabriela and Gery's beautiful Hotel Gletschergarten is located in a pretty little mountain town with incredible views. The food was great, workers very nice, and we had a balcony that got maximal use. Most importantly, Gabriela and Gery went out of their way to help us at the beginning of our trip when we were still very unsure of how the transportation up there works, how to find trail heads, etc. They booked us train tickets and even booked an extra hotel so part of our party could avoid a particulary difficult hike. They got us off to a great start on an incredible journey. I would return again, just to stay with them in Grindelwald.

We stayed here for 2 nights in late May 2026. Our room was very comfortable for 2 people with great mountain views. Staff was very friendly and helpful, and the buffet style breakfasts had numerous options to choose from.
We very much enjoyed our stay here and should our future travel plans take us to Grindelwald we would stay here again!
