Close to town, friendly and helpful staff, beautiful views, cozy feel, clean and spacious rooms
A super family run hotel in a great location. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and helpful and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. I’m struggling to think of when we’ve been looked after better. Really comfortable spacious room and incredible views from our balcony. Food was first class.
Nothing.
Just returned from a wonderful stay at this family-owned hotel. Warm and friendly staff, comfy beds, quiet rooms, and a delicious breakfast (amazing breads, jams and fresh fruit selection). Beautiful views out every window, plenty of storage space in our room for our gear and clothing. There's an immaculate and modern wellness spa with a steam room, sauna and relaxation room, a really charming common area, well-appointed with plenty of seating (see photo) and a large games room for kids. Highly recommend.
This was an amazing hotel in Grindelwald. The people that work there are super nice and friendly! Good location as everything is no more than a 15 min walk. Would definitely recommend and stay again!
I have so many great things to say about this hotel…its location is the best and I swear it has the BEST view in town. We stayed in a junior suite in room 337 and it had the most amazing wrap around balcony with the most incredible view of the gorgeous mountains I have ever seen in my life. I have traveled a lot and this view hands down takes the cake. The room was so comfortable with just enough modern touches but still keeping the wonderful traditional Swiss chalet charm. The hotel is what you think of when you think of Switzerland…a beautiful traditional wooden chalet with flower boxes lining the balconies…it was just perfect!!!
We added on a half board and I’m so glad we did! Breakfast and dinner were absolutely delicious every single meal and it was so nice to just go downstairs for dinner after a long day of exploring.
The owners were absolutely phenomenal and so kind and helpful…you can tell they take great pride in their beautiful hotel and making sure each guest is happy and taken care of.
We stayed for 9 nights in Switzerland…4 of which were at Hotel Gletschergarten and it is hands down our favorite from our whole trip. I cannot recommend enough!! Do yourself a favor and book this amazing hotel. You will not be disappointed. The memories we made here will last and stay with us forever. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🇨🇭
We chose a cheap double standard room, but the madam gave us a expensive double superior room for the same price. She is like a teacher. She treated us like family. they only wanted our happiness. Sir also very kind, respectful, helpful person. No words to explain. we felt comfortable stay.
The rooms ❤️are very clean, comfortable with balconies enjoying the nice mountain views.

I recommend 100% this beautiful hotel and will hope to stay here again.😊

Beautiful, magical and wonderful experience. Attentive to details and staff ensuring a comfortable stay. Rooms updated beautifully maintaining Swiss charm. Views for days! Heaven scented flowers throughout. Best place to stay in Grindelwald.
We (myself - the mother and 2 sons (19, 20) stayed in the apartment Wetterhorn, owned by the Hotel Gletschergarten, and almost opposite to it. It's a wonderful location, close to the centre (about 10-15 mins walk) and with exceptionally large, sunny terrace with breathtaking views. The apartment is very convenient, it has everything one might need, a bedroom with 2 beds, a very large sitting room and kitchen area, and another bed which could be for one or two people, as well as a very comfortable sofa. There is enough room for 5 people. Towels and sheets are provided as well as some condiments and soaps/shampoo. It's very clean and well organised. there is a bakery opposite which opens at 7am and also stocks essentials like eggs & milk, and a supermarket is only 10mins away, as well as another bakery/cafe. Great walks/hikes directly from the apartment and the wonderful Gabriela and Gerhard are there to answer any questions! We appreciated the flexibility of not having a Saturday check-in and the possibility of staying 5 nights. Overall - a lovely trip and we were sad to leave...Price-wise it was very reasonable given the similar accommodation options and probably much more convenient!
A warm and friendly welcome greeted my friend and me as we finished a very strenuous hike the day of our visit. The owners of this beautiful hotel treated us like family, the room was comfortable, the view incredible and the restaurant meals delicious. The owners graciously helped us solve a ticket mishap that allowed us to continue our Bernese Oberland hike stressfree! We will always remember the stop in Grindelwald!
This little privately owned hotel in the mountains is the greatest.
I took my whole family there the first part of June.
Hotel is very old family owned business for over a hundred years I think. It’s in great shape and the owners take great pride in their business.
Rooms are nice and the meals are good.
Note they are in the mountains so no AC .
We happened to be in town when temps were in the 90s (very uncommon)
All in all we had a great time in a great hotel.
Amazing family run hotel & restaurant. We stayed for 3 nights in one of their private apartments. It was spotlessly clean and very spacious with the most magnificent view of the Eiger from our balcony. The hosts are very welcoming and the food served in their restaurant is delicious and very reasonably priced. Highly recommend this very special place
The hotel room is so clean and new! The staff are very polite and helpful. The breakfast has many options and all are tasteful. The hotel location is perfect. It is excellent value for money!
The breakfast was simple but good. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Room was clean, good sized.
This is a charming hotel actively run by the 4th and 5th generations of the family. The owners are very pleasant and helpful. You can easily buy the necessary tickets for local excursions right at the front desk, and the staff is very knowledgeable about all the area attractions. There is a city bus that stops right outside the hotel, making it very easy to get to the train station and other places without walking. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, with great balconies for enjoying the beautiful mountain views. I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay here again!
The owners couldn't have been nicer and more helpful. Although it was unusually warm, the evenings cooled off and the fresh air from outside was great for sleeping. I very much enjoyed staying here and would recommend it to others.
Beautiful Ambience , so well maintained , taking care of all the intricacies…Kind and humble hosts , efficient and polite staff…We had a wonderful stay and leaving with beautiful memories
