Das Zimmer war sauber und zweckmäßig eingerichtet mit sauberem Bad. Man muss sich klar machen, dass es ein traditionsreiches, älteres Haus ist, das architektonisch über viel Charme verfügt, das aber m.E. nicht in allem dem entspricht, was man vielleicht unter "Grandhotel" erwartet, da es diese Zusatzbezeichnung noch immer führt.
Das Frühstück war ingesamt gut, reichlich und vielseitig.
Es gibt keine Rampe für den Koffer, man muss die Koffer eine kleine Treppe hochtragen, um zum Hoteleingang zu gelangen. Eine Rampe könnte seitlich der Terasse vermutlich angebracht werden .An der Rezeption wollte die offensichtlich deutschmuttersprachliche Rezeptionistin mich zunächst belehren, wie mein eigener (deutscher) Nachname ausgesprochen wird, da musste ich tatsächlich darauf bestehen, dass dieser "deutsch" ausgesprochen wird und nicht "englisch", das fand ich anmaßend und es ärgerte mich. Da die anderen MitarbeiterInnen aber durchweg sehr freundlich waren, vergebe ich insgesamt die Bewertung "gut" bzgl. "Freundlichkeit". Wir haben uns insgesamt wohl gefühlt.
L'accueil, Roman était pro et trés gentil. Nous sommes arrivés à 11h30 et voulions juste déposer nos bagages, il nous a tout de suite donné la chambre avec surclassemzng en suite junior. Lits confortables, literie top, produits d'accueil, ventilation de la chambre et de la salle de bain, ascenseur fluide.

Auf mein Zimmer wurde am Abend vorher ein Restaurantbesuch ungerechtfertigt gebucht. Die Diskussion hatte ich dann am morgen beim aus-checken. Fand ich nicht so lustig.
The hotel's location is perfect, especially for tourists that need to be close to the train station and explore nearby places via train. It worked well for us. Also very close to the food market hall, worth visiting
The Grand days of the hotel are definitely in the past. It does need updating, but it was OK for a few nights. Expensive for European standards, but not for Swiss prices. Breakfast offering was poor and the staff could be a bit more attentive. One morning they didn't even bother to turn the power on to keep hot breakfast warm.

Die Lage unmittelbar am Bahnhof und dass man die Basel-Card, die man bei Bezahlung der Touristensteuer erhält und für den öffentlichen Verkehr nutzen kann, ist großartig. Das Haus von außen schön, die Empfangshalle ebenso!
Puh! Das Zimmer war sehr klein, ich bezweifle dass es die angegebenen 22m² waren. Alles schon sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Leider nur an einer Seite des Bettes ein Nachttisch, Licht, Steckdose. Auf Wunsch hatten wir ein Zimmer nach hinten. Ein Gebläse sprang immer so laut an, als ob eine große Turbine anspringt.
Röhrenheizörper im Bad IN der Dusche verrostet (dreckig?).
Das Frühstück völlig ausreichend, aber relativ lieblos und so ungeschickt präsentiert. Die Damen haben und machen sich mehr Mühe als sein müsste.
Liebes Hotel Euler, bitte schreiben Sie nicht den üblichen Standart zurück. Scheinbar fallen den Gästen meine Kritikpunkte schon seit längerem auf, geändert wird aber nichts. Dann kann man sich das auch sparen.

Renovationsbedürtige Zimmer. Klimatisiert aber regelmässig Geruchsbelästigung im Zimmer durch Zigaretten Rauch. Frühstück etwas mager in der Brotauswahl.

We stayed two days as an extension before our river cruise with friends. An architecturally interesting older hotel (named after a famous locally born scientist) but with nice upgrades and amenities. The bathroom was updated with nice fixtures, the bedding was new and very comfortable, and I appreciated the in-room espresso. We were on the fourth floor and it was quiet. Personnel were all friendly and helpful. The location is great for getting on the local trams and trains and restaurants within easy and safe walking distance. I didn’t see any US electrical outlets in the room (not surprising) so bring your converter plugs. Breakfast buffet had many options and was good.
