Kleines, tolles Hotel in ditekter Nähe zum Amsterdam Central sowie Innenstadt nah. Einfache, völlig ausreichende Ausstattung. Liebevoll ausgestatteter Frühstücksraum, sehr nettes Personal, super Service und sauber. Besser geht nicht.

Cons:

Keine Fenster unterm Dach, also für die Kinder sehr dunkel und eben nur künstliche Beleuchtung - jedoch eine Klimaanlage. Wenn man den ganzen Tag unterwegs ist, geht das auch mal.

Spacious family rooms, all day coffee was such a help, breakfast readily available so our group of 9 (stayed in two largest rooms) could stumble down at our leisure, affordable stay in a historic building, feels like the intimate family run Euro hotels I stayed in during my backpacking days, so many of the staff have been there over 10 years and are happy talk.

Note about leaving keys at the front desk when going out: this is a hotel on a busy street with lots of people trying to take advantage of you. They do a great job of policing the front door and preventing entry of unauthorized people. Most hotels in Europe register each guest and don’t allow anyone else to come in. I appreciate that. Consequently very quiet and peaceful.

I’m definitely staying here on my next trip to AMS.

A pleasant surprise
Pros:

What a pleasant surprise, although the hotel at first sight is not impressive, it felt like home away from home. The staff was amazingly friendly and accommodating, the room although tiny ( since I chose a single bed room) had everything one needs for a peaceful night sleep and a good A.C and shower.and a hearty great breakfast was served in the dining room. Location is wonderful opposite the train station and close to all major sites of the inner city.

Cons:

For extra comfort I would recommend preferring a double bed room instead of a single one.

An Hotel With a Difference.
Pros:

We booked a room at the A-Train because of its closeness to Central station, which is 5 minutes walk away. Being located where it is, it is surrounded by bars and restaurants and close to the canals. Plenty of people in this area, but street noise was not noticeable during our stay. Most surprising to us was the fact that the streets in this area are filthy; littered with rubbish, everywhere.
I think it is fair to say that the A-Train is a unique hotel, with the public areas decorated and furnished using a train theme. It could just about be classified as a mini railway museum. Overall, quirky but interesting.
Our room was small, but clean and comfortable enough for a short stay. It was air-conditioned. There is a lift to take you to rooms on the upper floors. Continental breakfast included in our tarrif.
Whilst our stay was brief, we did enjoy our night at the A-Train and rubbish aside, it is an interesting area to explore.

La limpieza y amabilidad . Poder tomar un café o chocolate en cualquier momento nos gustó mucho. Llegamos muy pronto y pudimos hacer el check in igualmente. Nos íbamos tarde y nos guardaron el equipaje. Al ir a recogerlo nos ofrecieron un café antes de marcharnos
