We absolutely loved the pool, the cocktails and the food. The hotel is right next to the beach, which was nice as well. We also loved learning about the history of the hotel: learning that it was the house of the writer of 'Girl from Ipanema' was a very nice surprise!
The building is a bit old and the wifi didn't really work in our room. All the windows and glass doors in the hotel also needed a good clean, as they were full of dirty fingerprints.
Two pools, right next to great beaches, amazing breakfast and nice dinner. Great sea views and big comfortable rooms. Easy to get an uber outside and very close to the airport. There is an interesting display about bossa nova music. Great place to stay if you want the beach and go to the centre at night. Good for a one night layover. Everything you would expect from a smart hotel. They also had craft beer which for myself is worth noting.
This is not just about this hotel but a general comment which applies to all, please don't listen to videos on your phone of have a conversation or meeting anywhere that it might disturb others. Hotels should all have notices about unnecessary selfish noise.
