Hotel opposite the University
Pros:

It was centrally located and a short taxi ride from the bus terminal. Short walk to the river cruise wharf and the hotel is on the walking tour map from the tourist info office.

Cons:

Unfortunately our room was situated in the outbuilding, above the outside dining area. The light from there shone into our room even with the curtains fully closed. There was no lift, making the walk up the narrow stairs difficult.
If you are booking this hotel make sure you get a room in the main part of the hotel.

My stand-out hotel of my month holiday
Pros:

Antonius Boutique Hotel was an absolutely charming hotel to stay in, I had my reservations about the old building having creaky floor boards and inter-room noise but this hotel ticked all my desired features of a hotel, quality room, comfortable bed, air-conditioning, quiet with views over the back of the hotel, streaming services, even bath salts for the bath, block-out curtains, a delicious breakfast buffet and with sparkling wine, excellent staff and location to attractions and transport.
The breakfast was superb, while the buffet looked small there was a large variety of foods to choose from as well as a hot dish from the A La Carte menu like an omelette, fried or scrambled eggs with bacon, poached eggs with smoked salmon or the delicious eight-grain porridge with fresh berries.
From the train station it was a fifteen minute walk and a similar amount of time to the bus station.
This boutique hotel in Tartu was our stand-out accommodation on our one month European holiday. Thank-you so much.

Charming hotel in the Old Town
Pros:

I had a good stay at this small, sympathetic hotel that is full of Old Town charm. Every room is uniquely decorated and has its own individual character.

I stayed in a large top-floor room, which was beautiful with its slanted ceilings, skylights, and exposed wooden beams. The spacious bathroom was a lovely surprise, especially since it included a bathtub. The room also came with extra comforts like a cozy bathrobe, slippers, and coffee-making facilities.

The breakfast was great, featuring sparkling wine and the option to order freshly prepared warm dishes straight to the table.
