Boutique Hotel Hancelot

Ondanks de antieke uitstraling, die prachtig was, waren faciliteiten zoals de badkamer (douche, kraan, bad) gedateerd. De authentieke sfeer kan ook bewaard blijven mét nieuwe faciliteiten. Verder was er geen airco of ventilator (sliepen er met een hittegolf), maar met de ramen open slapen is vanwege de gehorige kasseien buiten ook geen optie. Veel potentie, maar er is nog wel wat vernieuwing nodig (zijn ze volgens mij mee bezig).

Hotel is under construction and it was not communicate anywhere in advance. Receptionist took us to room after check in and then told us. It was seen at first sign that the room is not ready yet - walls, bathroom etc. I suppose, it will be fine accomodation in the future, but not now. For the price I honestly expected much more.
Also be aware of parking - park places at the street are very expensive, it is better to use P+R parking and commute by public transport or for 1 night we used Interparking (during night hours 19-7 it cost a few euros and we left around 9 a.m. So it was quite okay price).

As expected from previous reviews, the place was a bit quirky!
The wooden floor in the room was starting to splinter (pack slippers!).
The TV was temperamental (running through an old digi box).
No fridge in room which would have been nice as there is no hotel bar and no bars or shops nearby.

Omwille van de charmante oude kamers, heb je iets meer last van geluid dan op een doorsnee kamer, maar is snel opgelost met oordopjes.
Het ontbijt was basic, maar verzorgd!

La habitación sucia y bastante destrozada. Las puertas de los armarios se cerraban con cinta adhesiva. No habian tiradores

De hygiëne in de douche kon beter en de vloeren kraakten wel hard waardoor ik alles van de bovenburen kon horen.

Not great pressure through the shower, but not a big problem.

De krakende houten vloer maar daar is in zo'n band weinig aan te doen.

Безобразное отношение к гостям! Если отменили бронирование, почему не предупредить заранее?! Пришлось срочно менять планы и бронировать другой отель дороже! Никаких извинений так и не дождалась.

Booking .com need to update with the hotel. The details are not accurate and standard is not yet fit for how it was advertised. We would like a voucher for future visit as we excited about the proposed development and modernisation. The bathroom was not up to standard as advertised and the bedroom floor was in need of maintenance and pillows were unsuitable.

The cleaning was not at superior standard, but mostly ok. Some features in the room like elctric plugs and renovated bathroom features were a bit clumsily executed. This is a very old building by heart, so expect the temperature in the hotel to follow what happens in the weather outside. In the winter / spring time you might want to dress warmly for the breakfast. The rooms are not very silent what comes to living with other guests. F.ex. The floors sound as old as they are. No restaurants in the building or the nearby blocks.

Leider wirkt das Hotel zwar schön und "charmant alt", aber in einigen Punkten auch etwas vernachlässigt und lieblos bzw gar nicht renoviert.
Vielerorts sehr staubig.
Ganz besonders schlimm fand ich, dass wir nur einen Knauf am Hahn des Waschbecken hatten, entweder warm oder kalt- und mussten den immer hin- und herstecken.
Ausserdem ging die Badtür nicht zu. Wir behalfen uns mit einer Tasche, die wir davor stellten, aber toll war es nicht.
Und die Fenster waren nur einfach verglast, nachts war es von der Straße her sehr laut.

Zwei gleichzeitig nutzbare Wasserhähne wären toll. So mussten wir uns entscheiden. Ging auch, aber mit zwei Hähnen wäre es schöner gewesen.
