Very deceiving, would not book again.
Pros:

The hotel is nice looking from the outside.

Cons:

I was in the Kings Room. My room was dirty, full of cobwebs, the mattress was hard and I could feel the springs and the shower is aweful, its a "rain" shower and the water dribbles out so slowly. It was extremely frustrating trying to shower. The toilets flush does not work properly either. You have to flush it about 6 times just to get a bit of paper to go down.

Not as good as it made out
Pros:

Good location and a lovely old building.

Cons:

We stayed in the Lily Suite. The self check in was ok but as there were no staff at all, if there is anything wrong there's not a lot which can be done. The entry code for the hotel was the same as the entry code for our room, we didn't feel secure as it seemed that anyone that had access to the hotel, also had access to all of the rooms. There was no one to ask if this was so.
The room must have been lovely once but it was tired. There were cobwebs and the bathroom wasn't properly clean. You had to stand a bin in front of the bathroom door to keep it shut as the lock/handle didn't work. The wood on the floor of the balcony was old and needed replacing, somewhat a trip hazard. When booking , we thought that there was bar where we could get refreshments at the property but this was permanently shut. Breakfast was at a sister hotel across the road, nice food but not what we expected. Overall it felt a bit neglected and had seen better days. We expected far more for the price. It wasn't cheap.

I won’t be returning.
Pros:

Parking

Cons:

I wasn’t aware that the breakfast was served at the sister hotel. Which is fine providing it doesn’t rain. Property had a strange smell. Cannabis could be smelled in the hotel. I only stayed one night despite paying for two. Main entrance door didn’t lock or shut properly which meant easy access for anyone entering the hotel. As 2 females on our own felt insecure.

Pleasant and relaxing
Pros:

Ambience, building, convenience

Cons:

Hard to get hold of a human, breakfast was a walk in the rain, state of the building could be improved with rotten window frames, bathroom needs a refresh,

No staff, no reception, no one to greet you, felt like the hotel was dehumanised, breakfast was included but it was very minimalistic, had to cross road to its sister hotel for breakfast

Pros:

Location is amazing and free parking. Amelia was very helpful, trying to sort our issues.

Cons:

We were meant to have our room cleaned on the 3rd day, but it didn't happen. We had to walk over to the derby multiple times. Asking for clean towels, toilet rolls, milk, and our tv only had 2 channels all week. There was no milk in the downstairs lounge. So again, I had to ask. Our shower only half the water came out. But we were fed up with going over. We were very disappointed. It felt like this hotel is just a second thought to the derby, and they couldn't be bothered.
