Heerlijk comfortabel hotel-restaurant in Santiago de Compostella. Uiterst vriendelijk personeel. Ruime luxe kamer met heerlijke bedden. Zeer compleet ontbijt en een restaurant voor fijnproevers. Terrassen en buitenzwembad completeren de luxe uitstraling. Parking met oplaadpunten voor EV.

I had a very negative experience at this hotel. The private spa was in poor condition (dirty, with insects, and on one occasion it smelled of urine). When I complained, the staff downplayed the issue and denied everything.
I filed a formal complaint with Relais & Châteaux.
More than a year later, they cancelled my confirmed reservation and banned me from the hotel, citing "serious incidents" during that stay.
It seems quite clear that this is retaliation for having filed a complaint.
I have now been waiting almost 24 hours without any meaningful response.
The hotel is going worse over time, same price or higher with qualities doing down.
Including personnel, which is at this point the main pain point of this place

The staff were very friendly and helpful. We ate twice in the higher end restaurant and the food (and service) were excellent. The bed was very comfortable.
Our (entry level) room was on a lower ground (basement) floor and was very dark with no view other than of a grass bank rising up from our window. We found the room to be overly stuffed with an odd mixture of old and new furniture, some of which was not as useful as it could have been. For example, there were no drawers at all in the room and all clothes (including underwear) had to be stored on a shelf inside the wardrobe. There would have been space to include a chest of drawers in the room in place of the (entirely useless) writing bureau or the TV table that had a gap underneath where the cables from the TV were visible trailing down the wall. The two bedside tables were large and had no storage space underneath either. Maybe a personal preference but we generally expect to find drawers in a hotel room. There was also no coffee machine, although one was provided on request. We then had to keep requesting additional capsules for our morning coffee as they were not automatically replenished. The outside areas were pleasant enough although the furniture was very uncomfortable with no cushions provided (or available on request) for the seats or beds around the pool. The informal cafe had uncomfortable fold up wooden chairs that discouraged a long lazy lunch. The hotel is also a large wedding venue and hosted events on two of the three nights while we were staying, with loud amplified live music playing directly adjacent to the outside terrace of the high-end restaurant. Reviews seem to be excellent but we were thoroughly underwhelmed. We would not stay again and would advise friends to look elsewhere.
