W = wonderful!
Pros:

Fabulous hotel in a great location.
Breakfast is amazing.
Only aspect that better all the above is the staff. Attentive but not over bearing, polite and thoroughly professional.
They are what makes the hotel special.

Cons:

It was not long enough.

Great service set the tone for a great stay
Pros:

After a few days of work in Canary Wharf, I moved to this hotel for a few days of fun. Was just looking for a more central location, but got so much more from the moment we walked in! Manuela was amazing. The check in desk was a bit busy and she came out to apologize for the wait (we had only been there for a minute or two) and said that we would be helped momentarily. After a few more minutes, she came out with waters and ginger shots (delicious!) and helped us check in. Our room wasn't ready so she showed us to a seating area/lounge where we could hang out and wait. Ten minutes later--if even--she came back out to us with our keys, and when we got to our room our bags were already there. She really set the tone for a great stay.

There was a Marriott Bonvoy event going on at the time, and we played games for prizes. We ended up with a free breakfast (which was great since I hadn't signed up for that with the room I reserved) and even better, I lucked out with a free night for a future stay! I really appreciated the effort they made to recognize/reward Marriott loyalists.

The room itself was great. Funky design, great AC (which we really needed given the heat wave), comfortable beds, soft robes. The only suggestion I would make is modifying the automatic lights that come on in the bathroom/shower. I didn't think of it during the day, but if you get up at night to go to the bathroom the lights automatically go on/off and light up the room, which could disturb anyone else in the room who is sleeping. Our room faced the street right by the Chinatown arch and there were World Cup celebrations well into the night. Since I live in a city I was not disturbed by the noise but I could see where others may be if they are not used to it.

The W London is great hotel, and the staff really puts the experience over the top. I will be back!

Great stay
Pros:

Staff was fantastic. Rooms were clean. I felt all my questions and requests were fullfiled. BArtenders at the bar recognized me and offer me quickly my favourite drinks.

Cons:

Walls a little thin, sometimes I could here the cleaning team working either on the room on top of mine or besides my room, that was unconfortable (especially if I was sleeping late) Sometime the corridors in the first floor (i was at room 128) had a musty or moldy smell.

Central location walk everywhere
Pros:

We loved staying at this W hotel. It’s very modern in every aspect. The location is right next to China town, restaurants, parks and shops. The room was spacious a bit different layout where the shower and the toilets are in separate closets while the sink and a large counter was part of the room. We used the I pad to control everything in the room, lights to temperature. We had breakfast at the hotel every morning.
From the time we checked into the hotel until we left the staff was absolutely wonderful. They were very friendly and always eager to help with a smile.
It was a great stay in Central London!
We like to extend a special thank you to Alex( bell desk) Emma and Prayaas ( at the reception) Tsvetelina, Raj, Eleni and Tatiana(at the restaurant) for making our stay exceptional.

I Should Hate This Hotel, but I Don’t!
Pros:

The hotel rooms are funky, weird and small by American standards.

The bathroom sink is in the middle of the bedroom.

There’s precious little storage space.

The toilet and shower are hidden behind mirrored doors.

The decor includes a black disco ball. In fact, there are disco balls all over the hotel.

Hallways are dark and dimly lit. Perfect for a night club, but not a hotel. It’s everything I dislike in a high end hotel.

But the damned staff are so warm and welcoming. So helpful! So full of smiles and cheer, it overcomes the obvious flaws in hotel design.

The location, adjacent to Chinatown, is perfect for exploring the west end and Piccadilly!

If you forget your umbrella, no problem. Available at the front door. Weary from a long day of travel, don’t worry. You will be greeted with a complimentary craft cocktail. Cannot decide where to dine, piece of cake. The concierge will go out of her way to help you.

The staff is one of the finest I have met in my 40 years of travel! Not just one or two standout employees (although I do have my favorites), but the whole blessed staff! Incredible!

Bottom line: I hate the design of this hotel. It’s ugly and funky.

The staff make you feel like you are staying with family.

Fabulous Stay at W London!
Pros:

I was extremely impressed by the service, from the time my cab stopped at the street corner, 2 sharply dressed young man rushed out to open my door, warmly welcome me and whisked away my bags. The fantastic experienced continued at the reception desk and throughout my stay. The hotel is modern, with just the right mix of glamour and comfort! The amenities in the room are top notch and room service was fast and friendly! I truly loved it and will be returning for a longer stay with my husband. I cannot end without indicating it is the best location I have had in about 10 trips to Manhattan. The vibe was awesome, restaurants, shopping, theatre. Just mad I didn't know about this Marriott property before. I'LL BE BACK!

Loud & Pretty Lousy
Pros:

It is completely unacceptable to be 12 minutes late for a wakeup call - we needed this so we could be up and ready for the airport to catch our flight back. We asked for a 7:30 call and didn’t get it until 7:42. This is UNACCEPTABLE. The manager I spoke with the next day was rude and elevated her voice to me which is also unacceptable.

In addition to that - the elevator needed repair which we had to ask about THREE times (it was shaking aggressively and felt unsafe) and the room noise was unacceptable as well. I have severe migraines and I am very sensitive to noise which I mentioned several times. I was PUSHED into a 400 pound additional charge which I didn’t appreciate but was basically given no choice if I wanted to get any sleep, and it turns out it was still beyond noisy and facing a busy area on the street.

When I reached out, they took off the service charge - that doesn’t offset the experience. When I asked to speak with the general manager at the W about being compensated besides just "removing the service charge", they threw me a few extra Bonvoy points. I reached out to Bonvoy directly and was promised a response within 7 days, which I never received.

The rooms are tiny, the management does not care, and the noise is beyond over the top. I take partial blame for not knowing it was in party central - I should have asked I guess.

***** Service!
Pros:

Beautiful location in Leicester Square - short walk to Big Ben, Westminster and Buckingham Palace. The service is top notch here. Extremely friendly staff. Beautiful Mirrored rooms make them feel so much larger. We had a problem with the A/C, they sent people twice to try and get it working properly. When it didn't, they moved us to a new room that was nice and cool.

Perfect option in London
Pros:

What a fantastic way to end our London trip! Although our stay was short, everyone at W London made it memorable.

The location is perfect right at the entrance of Soho, the hotel is beautiful and modern, rooms are well designed and confortable, and the atmosphere is really nice, as well the Perception Bar.

Thank you to Isa at Reception for taking such great care of us, he totally made sure we had the best experience.

Also thank to Prayaas and Elisabetta, who helped us before the arrival, to all the porters team for the warm welcome and friendly smiles, everyone went out of their way to make us feel welcome.

We totally recommend it and hope to be back soon!
