Not happy
Pros:

All the staff were very helpful, food very nice and tasty nice and hot.

Cons:

The room very hot as there was no air-conditioning we asked for a fan which was not much help, the bed was very hard and uncomfortable, the pillow were not very good I have same old pillows at home. The wet room, as I am disabal, the floor was very slippery, need upgrading. Could do with 2 armchairs in the rooms.
We have started in this hotel 4 times and this was the worst stay glad to be home for a good night's sleep.

What a very friendly hotel
Pros:

Extremely friendly staff. Billy on reception and Trafford in the breakfast service

Cons:

Nothing I didn't like .
One lift not working but it didn't inconvenience us

Pros:

The Barnsley HI is always my 'go to' mainly due to the staff - they are always incredible

Cons:

The room cost shot up within the last few days - i did find it very expensive and did consider hotels which were half the price.

Worst hotel for family and dogs
Pros:

How close it’s to the m1

Cons:

Not dog friendly room only and the only air con is in the bar area where you are not allowed. Do not make you aware when they have events on and it’s not going off until 11pm and you have a 1 year old and they place you in the room right above the function! When you complain they can’t do anything!

I expected better quality from a Holiday Inn
Pros:

Staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast selection was OK, but the hot food wasn't brilliant.

Cons:

I thought the hotel looked tired, needs a refrubshment. The bar area wasn't great and the beds weren't comfortble. Rooms were clean but in need of modernising, the air conditioning wasn't effective and appeared old.

I was disappointed.
Pros:

The room was cleaned. Staff was helpful.

Cons:

It is an old building. The drainage system in the bathroom sink was smelling like sewage.The domestic needs to wash the bath tub , it was dirty and sliding when I was about to take a shower . I had to wash it before I had a shower .
