Pros:

Staff was excellent. Location was solid. coffee machine was a nice touch.

Cons:

The bed in room 202 is shot, i think, the springs are dying and the bed kinda droops in the middle. Hurt my back all night, but since was only there one night wasn't the end of the world. Might wanna look at replacing the mattress.

Good hotel, overpriced
Pros:

Very petite, functional and on the Pacific Avenue, stones throw away from all the main food and beverage attractions.

Cons:

It was ridiculously expensive. Definitely not worth the price I paid for one night. Ideal price per night should be not more than 150 to 200 usd

No frills but fine
Pros:

It was overall fine. No frills, but clean.

Cons:

There's no breakfast and an unexpected $15 charge for parking. There was a creepy half naked man in the common area and the staff didn't seem to want to address him.

It's not quite as near the beach as advertised.

very comfortable bed, overall great value
Pros:

Bed and pillows are very comfortable. exceptionally comfortable for this price point. very big plus on the bed and pillows. bathroom was nice. didn't use any of the outside facilities but they had spaces for small gatherings around firepits and a small seating area indoors. fresh baked sweets every day (cookies, brownies, etc.) and coffee always available. free wifi, with the router right in the room. not sure if all rooms had it but I had a good connection.

Cons:

no fridge in the room. they had a large staff fridge that was available 24/7 if anyone needed to use it (along with other kitchen essentials). to those reading that aren't from the area, keep in mind that Santa Cruz is built different. I would not trust this practice in areas like sacramento or the bay area, but santa cruz is different. still not my jam though I like to have cold waters with me in my room and would prefer even in a small in-room refrigerator.

shower was nice but but the shower head was low pressure (typical for most hotels).

better power options for charging phones and devices would be nice.
