It was absolutely stunning setting that we reached by flying to Bolzano and then taking the cable car up to the hotel. The restaurant food was completely delicious - we didn't always recognise what we were ordering but it was delicious nonetheless. The breakfast was 5 stars - esp the waffle/omlette station! The included Rittencard was brilliant for car free travel. The facilities for children were particularly excellent - the play rooms were much beloved, the special touches with child dressing gowns were a huge hit. The basement room with loads of bikes, hiking backpacks (incl toddler carriers) and prams to borrow for free was phenomenal. We would love to go back!
Very little to improve - perhaps the set menus for the children could have been easier to navigate as there were "off-menu" swaps we could make but nowhere to read these so there was a bit of a language barrier figuring out what we could order instead for the one evening our child didn't like it. A layout map of the hotel would also be helpful!
Stunning views and very beautiful location, building and gardens. The quality of the food (half board) was great. Loved the amenities such as the spa, pool and the tennis court, and the room was really comfortable and clean. Overall, we were very happy with our stay.
We felt that the service was too often ignorant and passive, and although some of the staff were super helpful and attentive, the service generally not at the level you would expect from a hotel in this price range. Probably the service would have been much better if we would have been fluent in German or Italian.
