Conveniently located, but not clean
Pros:

The guy at the front desk was friendly and helpful. It was just 4kms from where we to where we had to go (we couldn't find accommodation closer). We could park onsite and it was cheap. We were only there one night.

Cons:

There was mould in the shower and a smell coming from the drain in the bathroom. The bed was very hard and the pillows were thin and not very comfortable. It is an old property and it was cheap, but it doesn't take much effort to use a bit of bleach in the shower!!

Pros:

We loved our stay at Brunswick Towers. Easy check in. Staff are friendly and rooms comfortable and clean. Parking was free and easy. It is a little bit tired but thats why the cheap price. We would happily stay here again. It's in a great spot just off Sydney Rd.

This hotel is great value.

Yes, it's a bit old and worn. Creaks a bit. Dinged up a bit. Everything works. Amenities are adequate.

Shower is absolutely great: strong force, temperature hits almost as soon as you dial it, and, get this: has lights in the head. Blue, green then red. It's prolly some "ok, get out now" water saving thing. I thought it was fun until I realised its prolly run on batteries.

I paid $240 for a queen in May, 2026.

It's not close to the CBD - that's a solid tram ride away. Or the Moreland Train Station (bus alts when I was there).

Area itself is grungy as, not gonna lie. I didn't mind it. I had food at a Pakistani resto nearby, holy moly. I did wanna try Kami - an all you can eat Japanese restaurant attached to the hotel. Sadly, I was always elsewhere by dinner.

Lady I spoke with at reception was lovely.

I'm going to a gig next month so I reckon I'll be back.

I haven't included photos because I only thought of that after I had been using the room for a day.

Cons:

Less didn't like than accepting that a hotel can be worn, a bit awkward yet still secure and safe even if the area and the façade are dated and worn.

Close to public transport in a well-loved building
Pros:

Close to public transport and comfortable bedding in a large room with a surprisingly good shower!

Cons:

Noisy, located near a busy intersection. Old grand building but dated. Toilet paper was pathetically thin.
