Pros:

This was one of the most beautiful places to stay. Waking up and having the lake right at your window is a real disconnect from city life. It's also located perfectly in the town for you to be able to work around while leaving your car. Amazing place to stay.

Beatiiful setting. Ideal for breaking journey between Kruger Park and Johannesburg.

We often stay here, loved the bigger room & not being close to the busier areas

Pleasant, but will book a bigger cottage next time.

Property is very well maintained, gardens is beautiful.

Cons:

No Wifi and when we arrived we were told that they will come and clean, nobody came to clean.

Critchley Hackle is but a shadow of its previous state, in desparate need of TLC
Pros:

Staff were very friendly. Location is conveniently close to town

Cons:

The lodge and facilities are old and tired and in serious need of attention.
Fishing was not good as some guests did not use fly fishing tacle but spinning reels. This had a very negative impact on the whole experience

Great place for a quick breakaway!
Pros:

Easy, friendly check in. Beautiful, comfortable room with a huge bed, bath, shower and fireplace. Very quiet and private. Lovely view of the lake and ducks etc. Everything in the room exactly what we needed for our stay.

Cons:

We had a bit of trouble with the TV channels, not many available and some got stuck.
No wi-fi (not a deal breaker 😊), (I am aware that unit is advertised without wi-fi)
