Pros:

Great location facing the Abbey. Plenty of parking free if you stay at hotel .Based in the town centre , plenty of shops , bars , cafes etc. Very historical town and buildings. Abbey is a must visit.

Cons:

We stayed in the annex next to hotel on the first floor. Room was basic and needs some tlc but ok for price paid

Lovely stay and close to town.
Pros:

Really clean and well set out. Lovely bathroom. Loved the cotton sheets. Great feel to the place. Fabulous location and a short walk into town.

Cons:

Noise from extractor, though with it being an historic building windows can't be changed. Poorly fitting room door so couldn't really be classed as a fire door. Leaky shower, which I had to tighten myself or water could have leaked everywhere.

Pros:

Food definitely a cut above usual pub grub. Wide choice at breakfast, chose 4 starters between 2 as kind of tapas for supper plus Parmesan fries. Excellent. Steak baguettes for lunch done to perfection. Accommodation nice quiet room in the annexe; beds extremely comfy. Nice relaxed ambience and central location.

Good stay for mop fair
Pros:

The location to the town, which holds the annual Mop Fair.

Cons:

Noise from next room, TV on till 2:10am then back on at 6:00am, not the fault of the hotel.

Thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast and the good welcome we had from the staff. However unfortunately the bedroom let us do

The staff were really friendly

Cons:

We stayed in room 9, after a long drive from Cornwall for a course/ exam for myself the next day we instantly got met with Cousin sitting on the chair and it breaking.
Dinner although the chef listened to my request of how I liked my steak the Sirloin was pure gristle ( not a marble which I wouldn't have minded) so most of it was wasted.
When retiring to the room as I desperately needed a good night's sleep, the noise from the Aircon?! And paper thin walls hearing the other rooms was torture!! I was also bitten multiple times and I have auto immune disorders, I was covered in hives and in agony and still am with the burning. Having travelled all day, to not sleep all night before a 10 hour course and Xmas was horrendous! Once it was light in the morning I checked the bed to see what the hell I was reacting so badly too and found bed bugs and rent a kill under the beds full of critters!!!
I had to be at my location and hour away first thing and didn't get chance to say a thing, my cousin went back and stripped the beds to find yet more bugs all within the beds.
Once I finally have recovered I will be in contact but right now on the long journey back and extremely poorly ( as is my cousin but she doesn't have the same conditions as me)
Tearful, exhausted and absolutely gutted, I Never complain but this was hideous I'm afraid 😭
