Brilliant place to stay - easy access to town and main roads out of town.
Pros:

The rooms were great for our family, we could make dinner and breakfast everyday with the facilities in the room. The apartments are in a great location to the mall which was in easy walking distance.

Cons:

The only bummer for us is that while we were there, none of the 3 pools got sun on them and it was too cold to swim in them without the sun but it could of just been the time of the year that we were there.

A beautiful stay at Southern Cross
Pros:

Lovely quiet location within easy walking distance to main areas of interest and promenade. This was a lucky find for me during a very busy time in Cairns. Loved the well-resourced kitchen facility. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom lovely and clean. Overall, I really enjoyed the comfort, cleanliness, peace and quiet and the safety of the Atrium.

Cons:

Lugging a heavy case up several flights of stairs is a challenge - but I did it!

Good location and comfortable beds for a family stay
Pros:

The beds were really comfortable and the room was clean. We loved the heated pool as the 2 others were too cold to swim in ( we stayed in July). Our room had Foxtel which was great. the balcony is big and enjoyable. There are barbecue areas throughout that are clean and spacious. The location is great - walking distance to Rusty's, supermarket, shopping but not too loud.

Cons:

The place is a bit run down - the remote from our air conditioner did not work, the fridge was freezing the produce ( got stone frozen strawberries) . Internet occasionally stops working and so is Foxtel. Every little bit costs extra, i.e. pool towels cost extra, etc.

It’s ok but I was expecting it to be nicer.
Pros:

Handy location but in a slightly dodgy feeling area. Beds comfy.

Cons:

Pool wasn’t really in the sun much and spas weren’t heated. If the spas were turned on it would have made a huge difference. The “gym” only had cardio equipment and a few dumbbells on the floor- no weight machine which was disappointing.

Pros:

Location - very close to shopping centre and 10 minute walk to Esplanade.

Cons:

Kitchen and bathroom a bit dated. Gym was very basic and lacking. The hot tub by the pool was not "hot".
