Pros:

It was clean and had three nice pools. Walkable to supermarket and main part of city. Kitchen was well stocked. Nice balcony

Cons:

A bit noisy - other guests (kids) early in morning and water pipes (?) occasionally at night. Main double bed was a bit small and uncomfortable.

The location to the mall was great and the access to pools from our unit perfect.

Cons:

Rooms are a little dark. Also, unfortunately, we received an email from a third party after our stay advising us of a security breach with our credit card details. Obviously concerning, resulting in us needing to take action to secure.

I would be pleased to recommend Southern Cross Atrium Apartments to any friends or relatives.
Pros:

Facilities were very favourable with help available from staff whenever I enquired.

Cons:

Some disturbance from other guests one night in room below mine(1163). Appeared to be outside visitors making a bit of a racket late, well after 10.00pm.

Scotty the after hours manager - amazing- 2nd to none - please pass on that as I was impressed by him. Without him I would rate it worse.

Cons:

Cleanliness bad, small room, wifi terrible, pools all in shade almost all day, gym dirty & small, room with 6 cockroaches when we arrived, small kitchen & fridge tiny, tv tiny & chrome cast didn’t work due to terrible wifi. Mixed guests that looked otherwise homeless & didn’t care about 10pm quiet so I had to complain about noise a few times.
Value for money terrible.
To clarify in detail:
Value for money poor- nearly $200/night for a one room bed in common area with small kitchenette & TV very small. No sofa & tiny balcony always in shade. 6 cockroaches when we arrived. Pools almost all in shade & no sun on my balcony all day. Wifi terrible & had to get a booster which worked poorly & could not chrome cast our Netflix & prime. Tiny fridge, no oven & small bathroom no bath. Plus the other guests were quite rough & stayed up well past 10pm some nights & this is where Scotty was amazing to tell them off. I had to make several noise complaints . I didn’t know some of the clientele could afford $200/night & I now know they don’t pay - they are workers, and others where government or other pay for them to stay. So get some homeless looking guests which makes it terrible to stay & I would definitely not stay here again. I would stay elsewhere for that price & less that is much better. Maybe not as close to Cairns central but that wasn’t such a bonus after all, not for that price & value for money. This place is definitely not worth $200+ per night based on location alone. It was low on cleanliness, other guests loud & disrespectful , gym terrible, dirty & small, pools all in shade almost all day & on top of that I was boxed in with scaffolding for 2 days due to work being done on the roof of building on my side. I was not told about this nor was I compensated for it & they hammered all day & was loud & disruptive.

Pros:

Perfect location! Next to railway station for trip to Kuranda. Next to shopping center with big supermarket, 5-10 min walk to night market, restaurants, Cairns public swimming pool and ferry terminal.

The apparment was fully equipped with everything needed. Comfortable bed and quet surroundings.

In the complex there are swimming pools, however I did not used because my days were busy with day trips, but somebody might consider as bonus.

Overall I am very satisfied and recommend this hotel.

Conveniently located, comfortable, well appointed apartment but noisy at times.
Pros:

The apartments are well located - 5 minute walk to Cairns Central shopping centre and train station (for easy access to Kuranda Scenic Railway) or 20 minute walk to The Lagoon on the Esplanades, Casino and Reef Fleet Port. There are plenty of restaurants and fast food outlets throughout the CBD which are within comfortable walking distance.
Our apartment was comfortable, clean and well equipped, especially the kitchen.

Cons:

Our apartment was on 1st floor overlooking the car park. We were disturbed early every morning by noisy delivery trucks, rubbish collection trucks and noisy 4wheel drives arriving and departing. The heated pool was disappointingly too cool in the damp cool weather we experienced in June.
