Clean and very well set out.
Nothing
The location was good for areas to visit which includes National Trust.
Good Food at very good price for breakfast and dinner. Very friendly and efficient staff. Comfortable room. Hint:- buy wine by the bottle, not the glass.
Shower meant climbing in and out of bath which for a couple of 75 year plus people was not that easy. Also decor could have done with some freshening up. Some of the carpets in the passageways were threadbare.
The staff and the hotel itself both good. The room was clean and comfortable. The hotel location and appearance are good.
The plumbing failed and we were unable to use the toilet. Water was covering the floor. We could not get help during the night and had to use the hotel public toilets. Otherwise, the staff were helpful, but the toilet was still unavailable in the morning. The management offered a refund plus an additional 40 pounds GBP. This was to be obtained via Booking.com and I am not sure how to go about that.
Roebuck is always welcoming, friendly, good value
One of my evening meals was disappointing
Beds and pillows were comfortable
Corridor hallways needed spackle and paint in many sections, veey worn rugs, mosquitoes inside, the restaurant food was fair, the front door of hotel was taped shattered glass. A place to put your head for a night sleep and leave
This is the noisiest hotel we have ever stayed in. Constant banging of doors very noisy plumbing and you could hear all your neighbours bathroom habits.
MENU CHOICES
Dat wij eerder daar geweest was ivm bezoek aan familie.
Wij vonden het achteruit gegaan zijn, qua onderhoud , enz., plus de hotel ligt aan een drukke weg dus veel lawaai van verkeer.
Beautiful building, great staff, breakfast was cooked fresh. We really enjoyed our stay
location was good for us as my son lives nearby. Stay was ok
hotel is very tired, broken glass door on entry, no proper manager, just staff juggling lots of job. Our main annoyance was we didnt have a working TV in our room. We did report it, and it was addressed, but never worked properly. Luckily we could watch programmes on my ipad
The garden furniture needs attention, some chairs and a table were broken and covered with ashtrays full of cigarette butts and water. Not nice! The cleaners also came very late in the date which was disrupting
The breakfast:
Large menu choice.
Freshly cooked.
Delicious.
Pots for tea.
The furniture, decoration etc were in good taste and it's a lovely building .
There are bits of wear and tear that should have been dealt with.
Friendly staff, clean bedroom with comfy bed. Good choice of both hot and cold options at breakfast and lovely evening meal.
The whole Hotel is in need of some serious tlc, outside our room the wallpaper was stapled to the wall, paint is peeling off the windowsills and all the carpets need replacing.
It’s a shame as it does detract from the hotels qualities.
Only stayed as close to a wedding we were attending. The property is very run down and on entering the reception the glass door was shattered. The room was adequate but smelt musky. The only good thing was the bed was comfy and good parking. Wouldn't stay again.
Over priced for a run down hotel, needs money spent on it. Breakfast menu was fine but the service was terrible. Waited 30 minutes for our order to get taken, and had to attract the servers attention.
Lovely bed and good breakfast
Place is tired and corridors need to be refurbished and cleared of linen yorks left outside our rooms .
Beds were comfy and clean.
Overall building is run down with damp and peeling wallpaper.
Bar is dreadful- only one real ale, although website clearly states two green king ales plus one guest ale always available. Generally the bar is badly stocked and not somewhere one can relax.
No communication from hotel re overnight roadworks, even to guests arriving for dinner who were then unable to leave in their cars.
The location
Hotel needs some work! I visited 29 years ago and it hasnt had a face lift.
