As we were walking the Cotswold Way, this no frills hotel met our needs for just one night's stay.
Pros:

Helpful receptionist who responded when we reported that the plug in our sink was stuck firm, meaning that it could not let the water drain away. The receptionist got a plunger and freed the plug.

The food in the restaurant was good.

Cons:

Size of the double room was small. The decor was tired.
The pillows were uncomfortable, as they were hard and foamy.

Das moderne Badezimmer, bestimmt in Covid-Zeit renoviert, fiel als einziges positiv auf!

Cons:

Die sehr alte Ausstattung der kleinen und niedrigen Zimmer ließ sehr zu wünschen übrig, auch die Sauberkeit im Restaurant beim Abendessen.

Pros:

A handy location with plenty of parking.

Cons:

We were woken up around 2am by a loud fire alarm. We left the building and stood outside. There was no obvious fire warden, no explanation and no apology. Somebody said we could go back in again after 5 minutes.

Far from reaching our expectations
Pros:

The location for the purposes was fine.

Cons:

A heavy duvet was provided which was far too heavy for the time of year. Spent part of the night sleeping on top of it. The pillows were hard. Ventilation was very pour. Single glazed windows ment very little reduction in traffic noise. Toilet being flushed in room next door was so noisy. Stayed at this venue as it was a pub. Had only one ale available on tap and despite having two others on show these weren't available and would not be so during the duration of our stay. All you eat continental breakfast consisted of one croissant and one pastry being available for the two of us. The pub side of the venue really let our stay down. Would not recommend this venue.

Relaxing.
Pros:

Firstly, the staff - absolutely wonderful! A very warm welcome upon arrival and nothing but exceptional customer service throughout. Secondly, the room was fantastic ! very clean and looked after, with a super comfy bed ! Would certainly stay again.

Cons:

The only caveat to the stay is that I wish for the food portions to be a little bigger. Not to say that the food wasnt amazing, which it was. just felt that the plates didnt seem as full.

Serviceable room for a short stay, unfortunately missed out on hot breakfast.
Pros:

The room was clean and serviceable, with a nice large bathroom and good shower. Staff were friendly and the pub had a nice atmosphere in the evening.

Cons:

Unfortunately hot breakfast was not available in the morning due to a kitchen issue. We understand this wasn't the hotel's fault but was a disappointment as we had a long walk ahead of us and based on reviews the breakfast seemed to be the main appeal of the hotel. Room was fine but very small, you wouldn't want to stay more than one night.

Pros:

Un pub in mezzo alla bellissima campagna inglese dove passare la notte durante un bel viaggio, mangiare bene e imbattersi (come è capitato a noi alla domenica mattina) in un auto-raduno! 😊

Pros:

The manager noticed i was walking with a stick so kindly changed our room to a ground floor.
The room was basic but bed very comfortable. Good quality sheets and towels.

Cons:

The toilet cistern continually flushed itself. So we didn't get much sleep!
Put the plug in the sink and then it wouldn't budge. So had to leave the water in the sink!
And finally the television remote took ages to register to put on and off.
I mentioned it to a member of staff as we were leaving. She suggested I email the boss. Which I have. I await a reply
The staff were lovely.
