We only stayed a couple of nights as we were visiting relatives in the area. We wouldn’t stay there again.
Pros:

The area and grounds were nice and the main building looks impressive when you drive in but sadly inside the main building, bar area and the bedroom seemed a little run down.
We had 1 meal in the bar area which was average.

Cons:

We were in room No.38 which was a bit dated and had a few cob webs around the bedroom and bathroom windows. There was a smell of dampness when we went into the room.

Working trip so didn’t spend much time there but it had everything needed
Pros:

Lovely location, easy to find and very scenic. Lots of parking.

Cons:

PIN code entry for the annex was fiddly, no shelves in the bathroom

Worst ever
Pros:

Leaving it was a shit hole worst Hotel ever been in. They did not tell us that they’ve gonna have loud music so we couldn’t get any sleep and they haven’t given us our money back so far we had to find ourselves another hotel. and that was being kind.

Cons:

Everything we complained about the noise so I moved us to another room, which was closer to where the party was and to top it all the window wouldn’t close. The guy on reception was very un co operative

Adequate
Pros:

Comfy bed and clean bathroom

Cons:

The communal areas are shabby and tatty - eg hall and stair carpet are v worn - folks book this venue for weddings and it wouldn't take too much to close for a few days to do up the tired and tatty interiors and put in a decent new carpet

Worth a visit.
Pros:

The building itself is fantastic. The higher-end rooms are very nice.

Cons:

When I checked in, the female member of staff was unfriendly. Didn’t smile, no warmth or cheeriness. I was also charged twice and had to resolve it with the manager later on (who was helpful).

Pros:

Lovely building albeit we stayed in a block across from the house.

Cons:

We went over to breakfast at 9.02 only to be told we were too late and had to sit in a bar area, with only a brunch menu and was told "you have to order at the bar there's no table service" the bar area was not clean and was in the process of clearing up from the previous night. Very disappointed.

Nice stay but its needs some TLC
Pros:

Very good food. Staff could not have been more helpful, they are well trained in customer service and all the staff we met were lovely. The bed was comfortable and the room warm. The manager was very obliging in moving our room due to some mobility issues which I had not been able to inform them of.

Cons:

Its a beautiful old house with lots of history and charm, sadly it desperately needs some TLC with the replacement of carpets and bedroom furniture. It ought to be fantastic but sadly its not. The bathroom was sad and we couldn't find any way to open a window to get some fresh air and ventilation.
