Had a lovely stay at the Royal. Very nice hotel a little dated but very clean with lovely room.
Great views from a huge veranda catching sunlight all evening.
Staff were very attentive…big shout out to Giles and Floss.
Food excellent both evening meal and breakfast.
Probably the friendliest hotel we’ve stayed at in Ross on Wye. Will deffo come again.
Nothing comes to mind
Breakfast great
Food good for a pub - and staff excellent
Breakfast very good and staff excellent
Room as described and large
Lovely terrace and view outside bar area
needs a lift - difficult getting cases upstairs (even to first floor) when you're getting older!
Superior rooms (at least) should have a safe and preferably small refrigerator
Perhaps slight updating although it was clean and comfortable
Bathroom a bit small. Perhaps convert to walk in shower?
Parking tight and full at times making it hard to find a space (why not rent opposite street parking?)
Close to my art course, half board was very good value
Limited choice on half board menu for vegetarians. Noises in roof of bedroom 1 so didn’t sleep well as all a bit weird!
The room was clean and nicely serviced every day. We had a good view towards the river and fields from our top floor bedroom window. The dear lady who looks after breakfast on weekdays would greet us with a cheery "Morning, my lovelies", which would make me feel lovely for the rest of the morning. 🙂
Our room was at the top of the hotel. There isn't a lift, just loads of stairs. Fortunately my wife and I are reasonably fit for our age, so we coped. The hotel car park could be very busy and some of the spaces are a bit awkward. It's possible to park on the road outside so long as you shoot off by 11am in the morning.
Great location
Too many stairs and no lift
Firstly the staff were very friendly and helpful. Location and view from terrace stunning
Car park tight but okay
Lovely location with excellent views across the valley. There is s large sun-trap patio, perfect for sundowners and light meals.
Very steep staircase to the back bedrooms. No facility to charge meals and drinks to the room
Excellent location and value for money. Car parking was available and breakfast staff were very polite and friendly.
Long queues at the bar.
Good location and outside area excellent overlooking the river especially on a summers night
Minor detail but the evening was hot and no fan in room.
Breakfast was excellent, good choice and tasty ! Our room had an amazing view of the River and the valley beyond. Didnt have dinner but food did look good. Bar and terrace area was lovely, very classy
Nothing ?
Location, food.
Excellent location with a fantastic view from the large outside seating area. A great place to enjoy the sunshine and hot weather. Busy but they coped well and the atmosphere was great for an evening out in Ross.
Food at both breakfast and in the evening was very pleasant with excellent service. Room was large and with comfortable seating area. Promptly provided with a sheet when we asked. The staff were brilliant throughout!
Unfortunately it was very difficult to sleep in the room during the heatwave. There was a fan provided in the room but the main window only opened about 10 centimetres. Better with the bathroom window open as well but this could have been adviced at the start of the stay. We had to work this out ourselves.
Lovely room and view.
braekfast was excellent room was lovely view stunning but in need of a decorate quite a tired building
nothing
The location by the town
Although room had patio door it was a bit warm,
Staff were all very accommodating and happy to help.
Breakfast menu offered a good variety and they were happy to support any special requests.
The Bar veranda was perfectly located offering great views and a cooling breeze.
