Hôtel Dame des Arts

Extremely disappointed with how this hotel handled my confirmed reservation. I received a full booking confirmation, only to have it cancelled days later without any prior discussion or warning — I found out only through an email stating the rate was a 'technical error' that they claimed was 'beyond their control.' No apology call, no attempt at genuine resolution, just a unilateral cancellation after the fact.
To make things worse, they also told me they cancelled because 'selling at a loss is not something we are permitted to do regarding French Law' — a claim I have not been able to verify anywhere, and one that conveniently shifts blame onto a legal technicality rather than taking responsibility for their own pricing error.

As a so-called 'goodwill' gesture, they offered me a 25% discount on a rebooking — except the new rate was already roughly 5 times higher than what I had originally paid and confirmed. A 25% discount off a price that's 5x your original booking isn't a real accommodation, it's just a smaller markup on an already inflated rate. This felt less like customer care and more like an attempt to make a bad situation look better on paper.

Beyond the inconvenience, I was also financially penalized for a cancellation that was entirely their fault: I paid foreign transaction fees on the original charge AND on the refund, meaning I'm out real money simply because their system displayed a rate they now say they never intended to honor. A confirmed reservation should mean something, and if a hotel cancels for its own pricing mistake, customers shouldn't be the ones absorbing both the financial fallout and a hollow 'discount' that's still a massive price hike.

I'd strongly caution other travelers to book with a hotel that stands by its confirmations, rather than one that cancels after the fact and offers a meaningless discount as compensation.

I stayed at Hôtel Dame des Arts on my first trip to Paris back in 2021, and I still remember how much I enjoyed my stay. I recently came across the thank-you letter from the hotel and wanted to finally leave a five-star review.

The location is excellent—close enough to explore the city but away from the crowds of the main tourist areas. There are also plenty of great local restaurants nearby. The hotel breakfast was very good, and the front desk staff were warm, friendly, and welcoming.

I had a wonderful experience here and would happily stay again on a future trip to Paris. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We expected high quality of service given the 4-star rating and our credit card privileges - this was our 8th time in Paris and have never encountered such rude staff at the reception. The attitude and lack of communication was not welcome after an early morning flight and a stay for a birthday trip. The hotel itself is quite nice but we will not be staying here for our next visit.

Great location, and a very beautifully decorated hotel. Great A/C in the room which was a little small. The breakfast is wonderful and the staff in general is very welcoming especially Erwin, the Concierge, who took the time to help me buy a last minute train ticket and book a taxi to my next hotel. If you need help, ask for Erwin!

Love this hotel. Great breakfast. Amazing virw from the balcony room view with Eiffel Tower. Amazing Air Conditioner in the room. Clean and comfortable. Welcoming staff. Perfect breakfast. Rooms are small but that’s Paris! Really great location in Latin Quarter. I have several stayed other places in Paris — this is my favorite so far. Would definitely stay here again.

From its stylish design and exceptional amenities to its prime location in the heart of the Latin Quarter, everything exceeded our expectations. The atmosphere perfectly captured the charm and energy of Paris, while the staff provided warm, attentive service that made us feel genuinely welcomed. Whether relaxing at the hotel or exploring the nearby cafés, boutiques, and iconic landmarks, every moment was memorable. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a luxurious and authentic Paris experience.

L’albergo si trova nell’arrondissement 6, vicino a molte attrattive. Colazione variabile e con molte scelte a disposizione. Camere molto belle e ben arredate. Letto confortevole e di notevoli dimensioni. La nostra camera, all’ottavo piano, con una vista meravigliosa sulla città, nonché sulla Tour Eiffel. Terrazza che domina Parigi a 360°! Poi, non dimentichiamo il personale dell’albergo, tutti molto gentili e professionali. Bravi! Consiglio il ristorante nell’interno dell’Albergo, Pimpan, piatti ricercati e meravigliosamente presentati e buonissimi.

We paid over $900 a night for a room with a view. Our power went out in the middle of the night. Which caused the AC to go out and every outlet to not work; which caused our phones to not charge and die. Not only did we wake up sweating, but we misssed out alarms for the first excursion we had planned. The front desk lady was very nice and sent someone up an hour later to try to fix us. However, they only offered us $40 towards the rooftop drinks we bought. Which; for the price of the room we paid; seems completely unacceptable for the experience we had of terrible sleep. especially at a 4 start hotel.

The location is excellent and in a desirable area of Paris. So many shops and eateries within walking distance. The staff was very pleasant. The room was comfortable and had all we needed.

It was my first time at the hotel. I was here for whole week for business. The experience was very good. The personnel is very kind and helpful at reception and restaurante.
Bedrooms with amplitude and luninous. Very quiet.

Our stay at Hôtel Dame des Arts was incredible from the moment we arrived. Sara, who welcomed us at check-in, was so warm, friendly, and accommodating, making us feel at home straight away.

A couples day in, we mentioned that we had just gotten engaged in front of the Eiffel Tower, and while we were enjoying a celebratory champagne on the beautiful rooftop, the team went above and beyond. When we returned to our room, we were surprised with heart-shaped balloons and printed photos from our engagement. It was such a thoughtful gesture that made our celebration even more special and is something we’ll never forget.

The location is perfect for exploring Paris, the food was delicious, and the amenities were fantastic. Every member of the team made us feel genuinely cared for throughout our stay.

Jack and I would highly recommend Hôtel Dame des Arts to anyone visiting Paris. Thank you for making such a special milestone in our lives even more memorable. We can’t wait to return!
