The reception gentleman Steven was very polite and super helpful in many ways.
The chef in the restaurant was a really interesting and skilled chef. And great to chat with in the culinary field. He is very experienced and a decent man!
I enjoyed the hotel immensely, the art work and medieval furnishings, lead light window, rich diversity of deep colours was such a wonderful contrast to the more sanitised hotels. A great place. "I will be back!"
All good.
Great location and we loved the “vibe” of the art hotel.
Internet was tragic. Staff, when around, were good - but a definite “get your own towels from the cupboard in the hall” vibe. Attached restaurant and bar didn’t seem open (for breakfast coffee, for instance) at regular times, and were unpatronised while open.
The apartment was roomy with loads of character.
The shower pressure was brilliant and there were plenty of towels.
The location was wonderful and the staff were very friendly.
There were some dirty items such as oven tray and bedroom remote didn't work. The place is tired and could do with a refresh, but all in all i enjoyed my stay and would definitely stay again.
The staff were friendly and exceptional.
The location was great.
It doesn’t surprise me that you have a 3.8?/5
This hotel is dirty and dusty. My room 204 had a damp floor due to the fridge leaking. All the window sills were dusty. All the screens on the windows were dust ridden.
The blanket has holes and stains. There was no dish washing liquid to be able to wash up. No plugs for sinks and baths.
I had to clean this room to bring up to my standards to enable me to sleep here. I have been staying here for 8 nights and I have not had room service, so the carpet is filthy - hate going to bed with dirty feet. When I asked for my room to be cleaned I was told it would be an extra $29?? The cleaner never turned up after spending 4 nights. I was given fresh linen but had to make the bed myself??!!
I’ll be giving this hotel a very honest review.
I am unimpressed. I have travelled the world and even Bali in the 80’s had better standards.
I will be adding to that review where there are far better hotels within the area that have clean rooms, working air con, phones in the room and doonas not just nylon blankets with holes and stains I’d rather not think what they are.
Next time I’ll be staying at the Muddle Park hotel oppo the light rail and Alfred park where the Grand Prix happens for $149 per night.
Perfect location for the beach, restaurants, Albert Park Lake and public transport to the city. The room was comfortable and had everything I needed and the pleasant surprise was that it was quiet even with the window open.
The shower temperature was a bit temperamental.
Loved that it had a kitchenette
It was so funky and groovy
when we arrived the man was so kind and lovely even letting us check in early. Nothing was any trouble.
So close to everything. Overall an absolute no fuss and easy process.
Loved it all - if your wanting perfection and upto date modern room , this place will dissapoint as it is oldish and rundown ( as in outdated) however very clean, if you love older style ,groovy not fussed on modern, immculate vibes this is perfect.

location
old mattress cracked sink just old and tired. Stayed here 25 years ago i don’t think anything has been updated since then. Wasn’t cheap. I think they have long stay guests…..more like a boarding house
It was centrally located and clean. The staff were friendly.
The bed was small and hard. The suite smelled a bit musty.
Conveniently placed for time out in St Kilda. Cheaper than other places nearby.
Bed a bit small.
Great location and value. The receptionist is super helpful and friendly. Thank you.
Wine glasses in the room weren’t the cleanest.
