Great castumer service
I like hotel’s location.
There was a rather unpleasant smell, and the room did not match the one in the picture. The air conditioning was not functioning properly; it cooled for a few minutes then heated up again. Dust was on the lights, the television, and the air conditioning unit. Additionally, there was a spider in the room. Overall, it was a bad experience and not worth what I paid.
Good location
Nice, quiet and clean
The garden was nice
The rooms were extremely small, especially the family room, which was far too small for a family and felt quite cramped. The parking charge was also ridiculous and added an unnecessary extra cost. Unfortunately, the location wasn’t great either.
I liked the breakfast , the air conditioning and some stuff
The lift doesn't work of which they should be very clear about this so that customers notice after fully booking and paying. We found our room open coming back from breakfast and no one was there but our door wide open, we could have our luggage stolen by anybody. In the evening we found one bin emptied and the toilet one not, one room not done, complained at reception and someone came later but left us very small towels
I go to Bournemouth a lot and every other hotel was booked up so my first visit to The Orchid. I guess The Orchid is like a B&B, but better than some hotels I've stayed in. The Orchid was perfect for me for a 3 day getaway....Airconditioned room, amazing staff, perfect breakfast (not a huge buffet which was safer calorie-wise for me but breakfast was perfect every morning, super peaceful.....easy parking, short walk to beach and everything I needed. Some reviews said shower not great but was great for me...very powerful, rooms very clean and spacious with coffee machine and all the amenities needed.
Big shout to Jazmeen on reception....always smiling, very helpful, professional but superfriendly and smiley! Another big shout to Sarah, dealing with busy breakfasts daily, always smiling, nothing was too much, super-efficient even when it was full to the brim she was on fire. Last shout to chef and kitchen...didnt see then but perfect everytime. I didn't have dinner there as lots of restaurants around but sure if food anything like breakfast would be great!
My only negative was the staff looking at the sun during the eclipse and explaining they could go blind!!!
The hotel could do with a bit of a makeover, lift not working, some of the upholstery a bit worn and tired but tough economic times means near impossible to do makeovers!
Price very reasonable for summer time of year, will most definitely be staying here again, could not have asked for any more!
The newly decorated room was lovely
My friend was in the older rooms and was less than impressed
First appearance - looks like a care home
Very friendly and helpful staff on front desk and for breakfast. Clean room, comfy beds, excellent location and nice ambience in hotel. Air conditioning was perfect antidote to scorching weather. The bar area very nice and relaxing, as was the courtyard. Cooked breakfast very nice too and good selection of foods as part of continental element.
With a baby, it wasnt ideal that the lift was out of order. We couldn’t take buggy upstairs as a result and had to make other arrangements. Having to pay £15 to park seemed excessive too. Why can’t this be free for hotel guests? Also, although breakfast was very nice, for £15, one would expect much better coffee available like a bean to cup coffee machine. The instant coffee in the flask not in line with standard of hotel elsewhere.
Clean and airy. Friendly and accommodating staff.
A little bit tired. Very few staff.
The hotel itself is very beautiful and well-decorated, exuding comfort. It is very well located, very close to the beach and the town center. The beds are very comfortable.
When we arrived at the reception, there was no one there to assist us. We had to wait about 5 minutes or more for the receptionist to show up. There was no fridge in the rooms. It took a long time for the hot water to come through in the morning. And the crib we requested wasn't comfortable at all.
L'emplacement est pratique. Chambre agréable.
Parking payant 15£ pour la nuit.
Petit dej commence à 7h donc pas possible de prendre le petit dej quand on prend le bateau de 8h30 pour rentrer en France.
Good location, friendly staff, decent room
Toiletries provided were somewhat lacking, plug for bath and sink had been switched around which confused me until my girlfriend pointed out I was being an idiot
We liked the location and the view from the window
It could have been looked after a bit better as there were smash cracks in the windows, there was no fridge in the room and you have to park £15 a day for parking which if you book directly with them, you don’t have to pay so we found that quite unfair as there is no direct price statement. Like it says that there is a charge but not how much. So it’s all a bit shady.
